The adventure
We are convinced that outside is exciting, relaxing, and inspiring. It's versatile, for some it is a place to relax, for others it is the ultimate challenge. A place to enjoy and where big and small moments come together. It's a place to be discovered or recognized. But the outdoors can also be treacherous and unpredictable. Weather and terrain can surprise you. Our mission is to enable all people to spend inspiring and epic moments outside.
Yonderland is a European group of premium brands and retail concepts focused on outdoors. Including A.
S. Adventure, Juttu, Bever, Cotswold, Snow+Rock, Runners Need and Ayacucho. Yonderland runs over 190 shops in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Great-Britain and The Netherlands and resides in Belgium. We are looking for a junior Automation Flow Engineer to join our team We are starting a new multidisciplinary initiative to redesign and automate business processes across our seven brands, working alongside business and IT stakeholders in a team where process redesign is a core, structured part of how we build, not a side project. Our Business Analysts identify and redesign a process; you design and build the automation using low-code platforms such as Workato and Python scripting. For every process step, you recommend the right tool: deterministic scripting where reliability and control matter, and AI or LLMs where judgement or language understanding add real value. You build it, validate it, monitor it and own it in production. The processes are low in frequency and data volume, so pragmatic, right-sized solutions matter more than heavy engineering. And because the team is new, you will help shape how we work from day one rather than follow an existing playbook. You will
• Build and maintain automation solutions using low-code/no-code platforms, Python scripting, and AI technologies.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and seamless system integrations.
• Design, implement, and optimize AI-driven automation components where they add clear business value.
• Ensure quality, reliability, and performance through testing, monitoring, validation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, process owners, and IT teams to deliver effective automation solutions.
• Contribute to best practices, reusable components, and the ongoing development of automation and AI capabilities. Profile
• 0-2 years of professional software engineering experience, including production code, version control and testing. A software engineering background is required, not a data-science-only profile.
• Working proficiency in Python, with practical experience deploying and maintaining scripts or services outside of notebooks/experiments.
• Hands-on experience with at least one low-code or no-code automation or workflow platform, such as Workato, Power Automate or n8n.
• Practical, team-based experience applying AI/LLMs to real problems, such as API integration, prompt design, RAG, or agentic workflows, gained in a structured engineering environment rather than only through isolated personal projects.
• Enough understanding of how LLMs work to judge when to use them and when not to, including their failure modes and cost/latency/reliability trade-offs.
• A QA and monitoring mindset: you build validation and observability into automations by default.
• A pragmatic approach: you pick the right-sized solution rather than the most sophisticated one.
• Curiosity about how the business works, and the ability to explain technical choices, including why AI was or wasn't used, to a non-technical stakeholder.
• Comfort helping build a new team's ways of working rather than joining an established playbook.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. What's in it for you?
• A versatile position with pronounced responsibility and variety in a strongly growing and innovative market leader, operating internationally with headquarters in Hoboken (Antwerp) and offices in the Netherlands and the UK.
• The IT organisation is a driving force to support the strong growth and you will help shape it.
• An open corporate culture where you can be yourself.
• A competitive gross monthly salary in proportion to your experience, including the possibility of a company car, supplemented by fringe benefits such as meal vouchers, group and hospitalisation insurance, additional holidays, and staff discount.
• Adventurous colleagues in an international and diverse team.
• The opportunity to participate in our bootcamps (showers available) and various team events twice a week during the lunch break. We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of age, background, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or belief. Your talent is what matters most.
