Live Simulation Training Coordinator

Calian Belgium is a legal entity registered in Belgium that serves as a hub for innovation and collaboration aimed at supporting the Belgium Army with training and exercise solutions. Our solutions combine local expertise, proven delivery methods, and interoperable live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) simulation to ensure “train-as-you-will fight” is realistic, repeatable and measurable, while remaining fully aligned with national priorities. Calian has been selected as a contender to support the Belgian Army Simulation Centre (SIMCEN). We are ready to deliver Belgian-built capabilities, underpinned by decades of experience supporting the Canadian Army, British Army and the wider North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) ecosystem. Position Overview As part of this initiative, Calian is currently looking for a Live Simulation (LIVESIM) Training Coordinator to support the Belgian Army Simulation Centre (SIMCEN) in Leopoldsburg, Belgium. Responsibilities
• Responsible to the LIVESIM Manager for assigned LIVESIM training activities
• Plans and coordinates LIVESIM exercise design activities with the Primary Training Audience (PTA) to ensure training objectives are achieved
• Coordinates with the Training Development Section to ensure scenarios and training products support exercise requirements
• Designs LIVESIM exercise architectures and training event structures to achieve desired training effects
• Coordinates the integration of DuelSim capabilities into overall exercise designs
• Develops and maintains LIVESIM exercise plans, support products, schedules, and activity timelines
• Coordinates Independent Contractor support requirements through the Operations Manager
• Supervises Independent Contractors assigned to LIVESIM activities
• Assigns tasks to subordinate personnel during exercise planning and execution
• Works with Belgian Defence Exercise Directors to coordinate dynamic execution of training support activities
• Coordinates collection of training data and supports development of After-Action Review products
• Participates in planning conferences, rehearsals, and exercise development activities
• Supports Lessons Learned collection and implementation activities
• Maintains working-level proficiency in DuelSim operations and equipment employment
• Serves as a backup LIVESIM Expert when required Qualifications
• Combat Arms background is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Unit-level Operations/Training staff
• Previous experience coordinating Unit-level tactical field and/or CAX-enabled exercises is an asset
• Previous experience participating in at least one DUELSIM-enabled exercise at the Company Headquarters (HQ) level is an asset
• Proficiency in Dutch AND French at CEFR B2 level or higher Additional Requirements
• You must be eligible to obtain a Belgian Security Clearance
• You must be able to work on-site
