Help ambitious companies turn complex hardware into successful products
Voxdale helps companies define, design, engineer, validate and scale complex physical products and
intelligent systems. Our teams combine industrial design, mechanics and mechatronics, electronics,
embedded software, simulation, prototyping, validation and industrialisation.
We work with scale-ups, SMEs and large companies on challenges ranging from regulated devices and laboratory equipment to robotics, intelligent machines, automation, mobility and energy systems.
We are looking for a Senior Business Developer who can open the right doors, understand what is
really happening behind a product-development challenge and build trusted commercial relationships
with senior technical and business leaders.
This is not a high-volume SDR role. You will not spend your day pushing generic sequences. You will
research named accounts, identify a real reason to engage, write concise personal messages and pick
up the phone. You will also reconnect with known prospects, develop previous clients and help grow
strategic accounts.
What you will do
Build a focused pipeline of scale-ups, SMEs and corporates with relevant physical-product, robotics or automation challenges.
Research accounts and identify credible commercial angles such as a product launch, engineering vacancy, new site, funding event, validation milestone or innovation programme.
Identify and approach the right people: CEOs and CTOs in smaller companies and product, engineering, innovation and programme leaders in larger organisations.
Start conversations through personal email and LinkedIn outreach, followed by confident calls to verified mobile numbers.
Run thoughtful discovery conversations about product definition, development risk, engineering capability, capacity, validation, industrialisation and scaling.
Translate a client's situation into a clear opportunity hypothesis without pretending to be the technical expert.
Involve Voxdale's designers, engineers and project leaders at the right moment.
Re-engage prospects we already know and hold strategic catch-ups with previous clients.
Develop relationships across teams, sites and business units instead of chasing isolated transactions.
Maintain accurate CRM context, decisions, next steps and recontact dates.
Share market signals and customer learning so our targeting, cases and commercial approach keep improving.
How you will work
Our commercial approach is high-touch and human:
We select accounts carefully rather than contacting everyone.
We use specific professional evidence, not superficial personalisation.
We normally send a concise email or LinkedIn message before calling approximately 48 hours later.
We follow up persistently but respectfully.
We do not use automated mass outreach or generic engineering-capacity pitches.
We care about the quality of the conversation, the opportunity and the long-term relationship—not vanity activity metrics.
You will work closely with the sales team and with specialists across product design, engineering,
robotics, validation and industrialisation.
Who we are looking for
You will probably recognise yourself in most of the following:
You have substantial experience in consultative B2B sales or business development. Around seven or more years is a useful indication, but the quality and relevance of your experience matter most.
You have sold complex services, projects or solutions with meaningful decision cycles.
You can show that you have created opportunities yourself—not only converted inbound leads.
You are comfortable calling senior people and can hold a substantive conversation with a CEO, CTO, head of engineering, product leader or innovation lead.
You are curious about how products, systems and companies work.
You learn technical subjects quickly and know when to involve a specialist.
You ask strong questions before proposing an answer.
You can build a relationship over a long and sometimes irregular buying cycle.
You write and speak clearly, naturally and without sales theatre.
You work in a structured way and treat CRM discipline as part of good selling.
You are fluent in French and English. Dutch or German is an advantage.
Experience in product development, engineering services, manufacturing, life sciences, robotics,
automation or another technically complex environment is valuable. An engineering degree is not
required.
You may not enjoy this role if
you prefer high-volume automated outreach;
you avoid phone calls;
you need a constant stream of marketing-qualified leads;
you rely on generic pitches or discounts to create urgency;
you are interested only in quick transactional deals; or
you are afraid of AI or uncomfortable learning it; or
you are uncomfortable learning from engineers and challenging your own assumptions.
What success looks like
In your first months, you will learn Voxdale's capabilities and cases, take ownership of a focused
set of accounts and demonstrate that you can turn research into credible conversations.
Over time, success means:
creating qualified meetings and opportunities from your own work;
converting the right opportunities into valuable first projects;
expanding relationships into follow-on phases and additional teams;
building reliable commercial intelligence in our CRM; and
helping Voxdale improve how it selects, approaches and serves its market.
We measure the full path from account selection and meaningful conversations through opportunities,
projects and cumulative relationship value. Raw outreach volume is never the objective by itself.
What Voxdale offers
A technically ambitious environment with direct access to multidisciplinary experts.
The opportunity to sell work with visible, real-world outcomes.
A focused commercial approach with room for judgment and initiative.
Close collaboration with company leadership and the wider sales team.
The chance to shape a developing go-to-market system rather than inherit a rigid script.
Employment or collaboration model
Compensation and variable-pay structure
Travel expectations: limited
Interested?
Tell us about one complex product, engineering or technology sale you are proud of. We are
particularly interested in how you found the opportunity, what you learned during discovery and how
you earned the client's trust.
By the way: no candidate is perfect, and personality, drive, eagerness to learn and mentality sometimes beats all the checks in the boxes. If you feel you can be the right person, feel free to apply.
