Role Description The Third Engineer LNG motor ,responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of engine room machinery and related systems on LNG vessels. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring main and auxiliary engines, performing planned and corrective maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role involves assisting senior engineers with troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining accurate logs and documentation, and supporting safe cargo handling operations related to LNG propulsion systems. The Third Engineer also participates in safety drills, emergency preparedness activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold vessel reliability and safety standards.
Qualifications
• Strong technical proficiency in Maintenance & Repair of marine engines and auxiliary machinery.
• Valid STCW certifications and thorough understanding of Maritime regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Training and practical experience in Firefighting, including participation in drills and emergency response.
• Knowledge of Petroleum and LNG cargo characteristics, safety considerations, and handling practices.
• Recognized marine engineering qualification (e.g., Marine Engineering degree or equivalent) and appropriate third engineer license.
• Experience working on LNG or tanker vessels, or similar engine room environments, is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work safely in demanding onboard conditions, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate within a multicultural crew.
