At Veoware Space, we develop advanced satellite agility solutions that enable spacecraft, launch vehicles, space cargo systems and future planetary landers to achieve unprecedented levels of manoeuvrability and performance.
Our products combine advanced mechanisms, electronics, control systems and software to operate in some of the most demanding environments in engineering.
From our base in Leuven, Belgium, we are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to take space-grade motor control electronics from concept through qualification and product support.
Your Mission
You will design robust embedded electronics for our space products and stay involved across the full lifecycle: design, verification, testing, qualification and continuous product improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop embedded electronic systems for space applications, including motor control electronics.
• Design analogue, mixed-signal and power electronics, from schematic capture to PCB.
• Perform analyses such as EMC, FMECA, FDIR, WCCA, radiation and reliability assessments.
• Support verification, qualification and environmental testing activities.
• Debug hardware, investigate anomalies and drive root-cause analysis.
• Work with software, FPGA and systems engineers to ensure successful system integration.
• Produce documentation and support technical reviews in line with ECSS or equivalent standards.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, testing and product industrialization.
• Contribute to R&D initiatives in avionics and production. Must have
• Degree in Electronics, ICT, Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electronic development and qualification for space applications (FMECA, FDIR, WCCA, EMC, TID/SEE), including motor control system experience.
• Analogue, mixed-signal and power electronics design skills, including circuit and PCB design (Altium, LTSpice or similar).
• Embedded software basics and experience with microcontrollers and/or FPGAs.
• Soldering, test and debugging
skills:
we like working with people who have a hands-on approach.
• Knowledge of radiation effects and mitigation techniques.
• Fluency in English with ideally Dutch and/or French knowledge Desired
• Expertise in FPGA design, verification, validation and prototyping (VHDL, Verilog, Vivado / Libero SoC), including timing closure and ADC/DAC interfacing for real-time control.
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycles and space system qualification, from requirement definition all the way to testing. You will thrive here if you are
• Analytical, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Someone who takes ownership and drives work to completion.
• Curious and collaborative, willing to learn across disciplines.
• A natural leader, comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic engineering environment. Technology brings us to Space. People take us further. Join a growing space technology company where your contribution helps turn technological ambition into real-world impact in space.
We offer
a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning and a shared commitment to solving complex engineering problems.
