At Para la Naturaleza, a nonprofit environmental organization based in Puerto Rico, we believe that conservation begins with people. We are seeking a passionate and dynamic professional to join our team at Casa Ramón Power y Giralt (Old San Juan, PR) and help visitors connect with and appreciate Puerto Rico's natural and cultural heritage. The Host is responsible for providing attention, guidance, and support to visitors at Para la Naturaleza's Ecological Culture Centers, contributing to an educational, safe, welcoming, and high-quality experience. The Host provides information about the historical, cultural, and natural value of the assigned center, including its exhibitions, collections, resources, and activities, promoting knowledge and appreciation of Puerto Rico's natural and cultural heritage. The position also supports the daily operation of the center, including assisting visitors and groups, basic collection management, maintaining organized exhibition areas, recording attendance, supporting educational and cultural activities, and coordinating with relevant staff. The Host follows established procedures for visitor, facility, exhibition, and collection safety. This is a regular full-time position. Availability to work weekends, holidays, extended hours, and rotating schedules is required according to operational needs. General Requirements Bachelor's degree or university studies in History, Humanities, Education, Tourism, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Natural History, or a related field. Previous experience in customer service, visitor services, museums, cultural centers, galleries, tourism, ecotourism, education, interpretation, or related areas is preferred. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences. Interest in and ability to learn and communicate information related to history, cultural heritage, nature, and conservation. Ability to welcome, orient, and assist visitors and groups in a courteous, organized, and professional manner. Ability to learn and communicate information related to the center's exhibitions, collections, and resources. Ability to handle objects of various sizes and lift at least 25 pounds. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Attention to detail and ability to maintain visitor, exhibition, and operational records. Basic computer skills and familiarity with office applications and audiovisual equipment. Strong verbal, reading, and written communication skills in Spanish and English. Availability to work weekends, holidays, extended hours, and rotating schedules according to operational needs. Valid driver's license, when required by the functions and location of the position.
