Job Summary The Head of Credit Solutions, Greater China and North Asia, SME Banking, will lead a regional team of credit analysts responsible for developing and implementing seamless product frameworks that deliver scalable solutions for Medium Enterprise clients across the GCNA markets, including Hong Kong and China. The role is critical to advancing SME Banking as a core pillar of the Wealth and Retail Banking growth strategy. In this influential role, you will lead the Credit Analyst organisation, shaping its structure, processes and capabilities to enhance the quality and efficiency of Medium Enterprise credit approvals across Hong Kong and China. You will partner closely with the Hong Kong and China SME Heads, Product Heads, Credit Risk, Operations, and Stressed Assets teams, you will also identify and address the training needs of frontline colleagues, helping them deliver stronger outcomes for clients. Strategy
• Ensure that ME lending solutions in HK and China are relevant in the market and aligned to the Group SME strategy
• Benchmark our ME proposition against client needs and competition offerings, especially in key markets, to identify gaps and opportunities
• Provide data driven analytics & insights to drive strategic discussions at the SME Management Team
• As Head of CA team, provide leadership reinforcing commitment to CA structure and strong business focus. Provide oversight into the quality of credit analysis performed within the team. • To partner both Coverage and Risk, supporting the former in developing and executing their client strategies and both teams in respect of credit analysis-relevant matters.
• Assess the effectiveness of product framework and ensure they are fit for growth
• Creating product and policy mix driven by client needs to offer seamless and easy solutions
• Work closely with the country product and segment heads to deliver comprehensive solutions for trade, forex and Wealth needs Processes
• Ensure that the approval, fulfillment and transaction processes are simple and streamlined and to client needs and calibrated to the risks involved.
• Develop operating rhythm with stakeholders and governance framework to ensure that portfolio quality is in line with WRB strategy
• Provide insightful, relevant, succinct and timely credit analysis of a portfolio of the Bank’s clients
• Forward-looking analysis of business and financial risks including counterparty assessment on structural elements relevant to the Bank's exposure. People & Talent Build strong credit analysis capabilities, lead the Credit Analyst team to deliver independent, high-quality and timely assessments, and embed best practices to strengthen institutional capability and support business growth. Risk Management
• Proactive monitoring of key entity or industry wide events and/or developments
• Ensure infrastructure, processes, policies and control framework for SME Banking business is designed to appropriately and adequately manage the inherent risks in the product
• Partnering Risk through clear presentation of credit analysis and proposed credit grading Governance
• Ensure that the overall risk and control framework in SME for is fit-for-purpose and working well within the risk appetite
• Understand the regulatory and legal framework governing products in markets
• Engage and present to Product Governance Committee and other relevant forums such as Risk Committee and other forums/committees as and when required
• Manage the credit change process globally across teams when credit policy changes are enacted, analyze gaps and propose solutions that optimize execution.
• Coordinate regional / global efforts to ensure compliance with BCA renewal policies, CaRT and other credit administration processes. Key stakeholders Key stakeholders include the Market Heads of SME Banking, the Global Head of SME Risk, Product and Segment Heads, Stressed Asset and Collections teams, Data, Digital and Analytics teams, and Legal, Audit and Compliance. Qualifications
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in lending in Commercial or SME banking
• Deep understanding of Trade and Working Capital products in a Product Management, Relationship management, Credit Risk or Stressed Asset Management role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
• Proactive and positive with the ability to use independent judgement and make sound decisions Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Trade and Working products, a strong risk mindset with knowledge of the enterprise risk management framework developed within a leading international bank, and an appreciation of the relevant nuances within the GCNA markets.
