The Environment & Sustainability Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a culture of environmental stewardship across Peak School. This hands-on position focuses on inspiring students, supporting teachers with practical outdoor learning, and coordinating school-wide sustainability systems.
Key Responsibilities
Student Engagement & Learning Inspire a sense of wonder and awe about the natural environment across all year groups. Lead and mentor the student Environment Group, empowering young leaders to take action. Plan, organise, and facilitate weekly garden sessions for Year 1 and Year 2 students during Discovery Time Deliver engaging presentations at school assemblies to educate students on environmental issues and internal E&S initiatives. Curriculum & Practical Support Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate practical, hands-on environmental activities into Units of Inquiry. Provide direct support to students during practical environmental projects and outdoor learning. Operations & Community Outreach Oversee and facilitate everyday school-wide waste management systems, including composting and recycling. Write regular updates for the school newsletter to inform, engage, and involve parents in sustainability efforts. Represent Peak School at English Schools Foundation (ESF) cross-school meetings to share best practices and align on network-wide sustainability goals. Key Qualifications & Attributes Strong passion for environmental education and sustainability. Demonstrated ability to engage, motivate, and manage primary-aged children in outdoor settings. Excellent communication skills for presenting to large audiences (assemblies) and writing parent communications. Collaborative mindset to work effectively alongside classroom teachers and wider ESF colleagues. Applicants must be a permanent resident of Hong Kong or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
