Antwerp, Belgique PolyPerception Temps plein
At PolyPerception, we help waste sorting and recycling plants understand what is moving through their facilities and how to improve their operations. We combine deep learning and computer vision with a software platform that turns real-time data into useful insights, alerts and actions. We’re also building AI agents that make this information easier to explore and use. We’re a fast-growing startup looking for an experienced full-stack engineer who cares about the product as much as the code. You enjoy putting yourself in users’ shoes, have an eye for good UX, and want to take a problem from the first conversation through to a reliable feature in production. As part of a small team, you’ll have a direct influence on what we build, how we build it and how the company grows. We value engineers who ask questions, challenge assumptions and propose better solutions. What you’ll do Working closely with our founders, engineers and customer success team, you will:
• Take ownership of features from understanding the user’s needs and shaping the solution to implementation, deployment and follow-up.
• Build and improve our React frontend, including dashboards, data visualisations, image exploration, reporting and alerts.
• Develop Python APIs and backend services that connect our users, AI capabilities and data from deployed analyzers.
• Evolve our database models and data pipelines, improve query performance and manage migrations as the platform grows.
• Own and improve cloud deployments on AWS, including infrastructure as code, CI/CD, monitoring and reliability.
• Investigate production issues across the stack and improve performance, security and maintainability.
• Help bring AI features into the product, including conversational assistants, semantic search and automated workflows. What we’re looking for
• Experience independently delivering and maintaining full-stack applications used by real customers.
• Strong product judgment: you want to understand users’ workflows and can turn an open-ended problem into a practical solution.
• An eye for clear, intuitive interfaces and good UX.
• Strong programming skills and hands-on experience with React.
• Experience building backend services and APIs in Python.
• Solid SQL and relational database skills, including schema design, migrations and query optimisation.
• Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS.
• Fluency in English. Experience with PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB, AWS CDK, data-intensive applications, or LLM and agent integrations is a plus. You don’t need to have worked in recycling before, but you should be curious about the problems our customers face.

What we offer
• Meaningful work with a direct impact on sorting and recycling efficiency.
• Ownership of a growing product, close collaboration with experienced engineers and room to shape technical and product decisions.
• A smart salary package. We’re currently unable to offer a mobility budget.
• Flexible

working hours
and hybrid working, with up to two days a week from home.
• An office within walking distance of Antwerpen-Berchem train station. This is a hybrid role based in Antwerp (3 days at the office); we are not accepting fully remote applications. Direct applications only, no recruitment agencies.
