At Ayesa Digital, we grow with you
Every professional in our company is vital to us. Thanks to their talent, we continue to expand; today, we are a global team of over 11,000 people working toward a common goal.
Ayesa Digital is currently participating in high-impact European Union projects designed to address major European challenges and drive science and innovation. These are strategic technological projects based on collaborative initiatives that stand out for their international focus and a strong commitment to socially oriented results.
We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer with strong Java and modern front-end expertise to join a team supporting a major European institution, in the field of research and innovation funding and grant management. The position is remote from within the EU, with occasional on-site presence in Brussels (Belgium) of up to 5 days per quarter, always scheduled in advance.
In this role, you will develop and evolve reusable components and services used by the corporate information systems that manage EU research and innovation grants, including document management, financial and accounting integration, access rights and fine-grained authorisation, codes and taxonomies, document templates and electronic forms. You will work closely with project managers, developers and IT security specialists, combining hands-on full-stack development with API design, cloud deployment and secure-by-design practices.
What you'll do
• Develop and maintain features across the entire stack, from designing user interfaces and consuming APIs to implementing server-side business logic and database interactions.
• Develop front-end website architecture and design user interactions on web pages.
• Develop back-end applications and implement core business logic.
• Design, develop and secure RESTful APIs and web services, including OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Apply data and security best practices: input validation, authentication/authorisation, secure storage, compliant logging and monitoring.
• Ensure web applications are responsive and optimised for performance and functionality across different browsers and devices.
• Participate in the design and creation of scalable software, maintaining code integrity and organisation.
• Perform unit and integration testing, debug, fix and validate code changes.
• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms using CI/CD pipelines and containerisation technologies.
• Compile and analyse data, processes and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Write technical documentation.
• Bridge the gap between front-end and back-end developers, ensuring cohesive integration of all system components. What we're looking for
• University degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (Master's) and minimum 5 years of professional IT experience, or a degree corresponding to Level 6 (Bachelor's) and minimum 7 years of professional IT experience. Degrees in any field of study are accepted.
• EU nationality (required, as the role involves access to sensitive data).
• Very good knowledge of English or French, both spoken and written, at B2 level or higher.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks/libraries (Angular, React, Vue, Bootstrap) and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite).
• Proficiency in Java, Node.js or PHP back-end stacks, with experience in Spring Boot, Hibernate and REST API development.
• Proficiency with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB) databases, including schema design and query optimisation.
• Experience with Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based) and understanding of legacy systems using SVN.
• Knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and experience deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep).
• Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of authentication and authorisation protocols and standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT).
• Ability to integrate front-end and back-end builds into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work autonomously and within multicultural, multilingual teams. Nice to have
• Experience in grant management, financial or document-management systems.
• Experience in IT security for business applications.
• Experience working within European Institutions or large public administration environments.
What We Offer
• Prestigious projects within European institutions.
• International, innovative, and multicultural environments.
• Continuous support from a team of experts in EU projects. If you are ambitious, enthusiastic, and seeking a new professional challenge in international projects with real-world impact, this is the place for you In accordance with Organic Law 3/2007 of March 22, the company is committed to promoting the defense and effective application of the principle of equality between men and women, preventing any type of labor discrimination based on sex, and guaranteeing equal entry opportunities.
