Job Description
As a multispectral photometry data processing engineer intern, you will contribute to the development of tools that simulate synthetic multi spectral light curves and help analyse resident space object characteristics (among which the physical shape and dimensions, mission/payload/propulsion/platform identification, materials, attitude and attitude rate). While some modules already exist for optical observations in the visible band, existing software must be updated to consider multi spectral observations and new modules must be created to characterize objects.
• Software Development: design, code, and test scientific software applications using Python and JAVA.
• Scientific Modelling: translate scientific research and mathematical models into working algorithms.
• Data Handling: manage data pipelines and implement tools for data visualization.
• Documentation: document the code and the tool that has been developed.
• Performance Optimization: optimize software efficiency for high volumes of data. +
• Quality Assurance: develop testing protocols (unit tests, benchmarking) to ensure accuracy. Requirements
• Currently enrolled in a master’s degree in engineering, physics, aerospace, applied mathematics or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of numerical methods and physical sciences.
• Experience with software development tools (e.g., Visual Studio Code, Git, Docker containers).
• Strong interest in the space sector, optical systems, orbital mechanics, or space surveillance.
• Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment.
• Analytical mindset and willingness to learn technical concepts.
• Team‑oriented, with the ability to work across functions and cultures.
• Proficiency in English is an asset.
