Job Title: Medior/Manual Software Testers
Location:
Brussels (Hybrid – 2 days a week) Type of Role: Contract / Freelance/Perm (Multiple Roles available) Availability: Immediate would be beneficial Language: Must be fluent in English and (Either Dutch or French) PLEASE NOTE – WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER SPONSORSHIP WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT APPLICANT WHO CAN COMMIT TO 2 DAYS A WEEK IN BRUSSELS Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Medior Manual Software Tester with at least three years of demonstrable professional testing experience. The successful candidate will support software quality assurance activities by analysing functional and non-functional requirements, prepare and execute manual test cases, register defects accurately, and report on software quality to technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse and clarify functional and non-functional requirements. Translate requirements into clear, structured and traceable test scenarios and test cases. Prepare and execute manual tests. Document test activities, results and findings accurately. Identify, describe and register software defects in a clear and reproducible manner. Follow defects throughout their lifecycle and support their validation after resolution. Report on software quality, test progress, findings and risks to stakeholders, including: Developers Business and functional analysts Team leaders QA management Other project and management stakeholders Use XRAY to manage and document test activities. Work with Jira and Confluence for defect management, documentation and collaboration. Contribute to testing activities in an Agile and Scrum environment. Support the testing of APIs using tools such as Postman, SoapUI or Katalon. Apply basic knowledge of programming logic and SQL when investigating or validating test results. Collaborate closely with development, analysis and QA teams to improve overall software quality. Required Experience And Competencies At least three years of demonstrable professional experience in manual software testing. Experience in clarifying functional and non-functional requirements. Experience in documenting manual test results. Good understanding of software testing methodologies. Experience preparing test cases and registering defects correctly. Ability to communicate software quality clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Good knowledge of XRAY. Experience with Jira and Confluence. Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies. Basic knowledge of programming logic. Basic knowledge of SQL. Knowledge of API testing. Professional working proficiency in English. Professional working proficiency in at least one of Belgium’s national languages: Dutch, French or German. Testing Knowledge The candidate should be familiar with established testing methodologies. An ISTQB certification or another recognised software testing certification is considered an important asset. Basic Knowledge Of The Following Is Required Gherkin Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) Selenium Technical Skills XRAY Jira Confluence SQL API testing Postman, SoapUI and/or Katalon Basic programming logic Basic understanding of Selenium Gherkin and BDD
