Ready to become a Builder of Better and be part of our growth story as our new Prototyper?
Job Description
As a Prototyper, you are part of the R&D team and play a central, hands-on role in turning design ideas into tangible solutions. You help designers validate their ideas quickly, creatively and efficiently by choosing the most effective approach for each challenge. You know when a quick proof of concept is sufficient and when a high-quality prototype is needed that closely resembles the final product. You combine technical knowledge with craftsmanship and creativity to find the right solution. You work both independently and in close collaboration with development teams and report to the R&D Manager. Your responsibilities
• You build prototypes at different stages, ranging from quick concept validations to high-quality pre-series, depending on what the project needs to demonstrate.
• You help determine the most efficient way to validate ideas by making smart choices regarding materials, techniques and processes.
• You provide structured feedback to designers on manufacturability, material selection, tolerances and design quality.
• You combine testing and analysis: you set up and perform mechanical and electromechanical tests and analyse deviations and failures using a structured approach, including root cause analysis.
• You work hands-on with a variety of workshop machinery, such as CNC machines and welding equipment, while continuously expanding your technical skills.
• You ensure the quality and accuracy of prototypes by using the appropriate measurement methods and tools.
• You are comfortable using digital tools: you consult technical drawings through PLM, support programming activities, and clearly document builds and test results.
• You build test setups, demonstrators and integrated prototype systems that bring together different technologies.
• You contribute to a safe and well-organised workshop and actively help improve processes and tooling. Qualifications What do you bring?
• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in prototyping, product development or a hands-on technical environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of machining, including CNC, and an affinity with a variety of manufacturing techniques.
• A creative, solution-oriented and efficient approach.
• A structured mindset when it comes to testing and problem-solving.
• The ability to read technical drawings and work confidently with digital tools.
• An eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• The ability to work independently while also being a true team player.
• A strong eye for detail and quality.
• Fluency in English. What do you get as a Prototyper at Locinox?
• A competitive salary package with attractive fringe benefits, including meal vouchers, hospitalisation insurance and group insurance, tailored to your experience and expertise.
• The opportunity to join an international B2B environment with an exciting growth story. A team of Builders of Better
• The opportunity to work in a dynamic, stable and growing company.
• A team without egos, with room for fun and shared successes. Building better begins with a click Apply today
