(Senior) FREELANCE HR Project Manager – Development, Performance

Context AETHER is a key partner for intrapreneurial projects in Belgium, and we want to reinforce our support in the energy infrastructure sector, which is facing interesting challenges regarding large-scale organizational transformation and human capital development. New projects are indeed essential to ensure the modernization of talent development frameworks and human resources operating models that support the resilience and expansion of critical Belgian utility networks. Hence why we are looking for a Freelance HR Project Manager to strengthen our team of Project Partners. Task Description As an AETHER Project Partner embedded within the project team, your objective will be to combine project management, change management, and HR expertise to drive strategic initiatives across learning, performance, and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
Might Include
• Lead HR Projects
• Pilot end-to-end HR initiatives starting from business case development up to deployment and post-implementation review.
• Establish project goals, milestones, timelines, governance structures, resource allocation, risk tracking, and success metrics.
• Synchronize cross-functional teams and maintain alignment with business and HR objectives.
• Track project evolution and provide structured reporting to HR leadership.
• Performance Management Project
• Supervise the continuous improvement of the performance management framework.
• Facilitate the redesign and rollout of evaluation models, objective-setting practices, feedback loops, and development planning tools.
• Align performance frameworks with broader talent management and organizational goals.
• Support HR Transformation and New Ways of Working
• Steer initiatives to enhance HR operational effectiveness and team synergy.
• Support the transition toward evolved operating models and collaborative work habits.
• Structure and enhance HR governance setups, decision frameworks, and transversal collaboration schemes.
• Review, map, and re-engineer designated HR workflows to raise operational efficiency and optimize employee experience.
• Lead participatory workshops to rethink workflows and specify target process states.
• Guarantee the sustainable adoption and proper integration of updated processes.
• Moderate role definition and clarity workshops with the HR team. Profile
• Around 10 years of professional background in HR project management, HR transformation, organizational development, or management consulting.
• Proven track record leading Learning & Development projects.
• Solid experience in business process redesign, organizational effectiveness, and change management initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to convert strategic vision into operational, high-impact deliverables.
• Strong expertise in project leadership, influencing without authority, and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and storytelling abilities.
• Working proficiency in Dutch and/or French, alongside fluent English.
• Ability to work on site in Brussels at least 2 days per week.
• An entrepreneurial experience or ambition is a plus (extra-professional or extra-academic as well).
