• Support the provider: Order diagnostic tests (x-rays, mammograms, labs) and referrals as directed.
• Perform clinical procedures: Conduct EKGs, Spirometry, OAE testing, tympanography, audiometry, vision testing, and oxygen administration after demonstrating competency.
• Deliver patient care: Administer immunizations, injectable medications (upon competency), and medication refills (using e-prescribing whenever possible) following standing orders or provider instructions.
• Educate patients: Provide written or verbal patient education within your scope, documenting everything in the EMR.
• Communication hub: Answer phone calls from patients, families, providers, pharmacies, and other clinics/hospitals, documenting all communication in the EMR.
• Maintain the work environment: Keep exam rooms clean and stocked, and act as a chaperone during exams as needed.
