Brussels, Brussels-Capital, Belgique Vinces Temps plein
Vinces is a strategic public affairs consultancy. Our mission is to transform the relationship between the public and private sectors by professionalising public affairs, and our claim sums up the work: we build legitimacy, because greater legitimacy means greater capacity to influence. We are looking to bring a European Public Affairs Consultant on board, based in our Brussels office. You will join a multicultural team that advises clients daily on their public affairs strategies, and you will work with our integrated methodology, combining political, regulatory and social strategy. Our Brussels team supports clients navigating the EU institutional and regulatory environment. What will you do You will work on integrated public affairs strategies for clients, with your own regulatory monitoring and direct contact with client teams. Specifically:
• Produce political, regulatory and social intelligence: what is moving, who is deciding, and what the consequences are for the client.
• Monitor parliamentary initiatives and legislative proposals, and maintain clients’ regulatory calendars.
• Prepare positioning materials and argumentation tools as part of public affairs strategies.
• Contribute to stakeholder mapping and relationship-building: EU institutions, regulators, sector associations and other relevant actors.
• Take part in institutional engagement and help prepare meetings, hearings and contributions to public consultations.
• Track the EU regulatory agenda and translate its impact for clients.
• Support account and team management: client follow-up, contact databases, agendas and event organisation. What profile are we looking for? Education
• Dual degree in Law (required) and Political Science, International Relations, Economics or a similar field. A master’s in the same areas will be valued.
• Further education in EU law, regulatory affairs or public policy will be valued.
• Knowledge of the European institutional environment and its decision-making processes will be valued. Experience
• One to two years of experience in public affairs, consultancy, law firms, public institutions or regulatory bodies. Other relevant work experience will also be valued.
• Previous experience with EU institutions, trade associations or specialised consultancies will be valued. Languages
• English: fluent, essential.
• Spanish: fluent, essential.
• Portuguese, French, German or Italian will be valued. Skills
• Interest in applying digital tools and artificial intelligence to improve processes.
• Strong analytical and summarising skills applied to political, legal-regulatory and social information.
• Rigour, diligence and attention to detail.
• Strong writing skills and the ability to explain complex issues to different audiences.
• Intellectual curiosity about politics, regulation, media and social networks.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing environments.
• Proactivity and a results-driven approach.
• Willingness to travel. Culture and way of working At Vinces, our internal culture matters as much as technical skill. We work by project and as a team, so day-to-day life is collaborative. We care about the working environment as much as the results, and we communicate openly and honestly. Our team is built on a set of explicit values that guide everyday decisions. They are not a mere formality of the recruitment process: they are part of the conversation from the very first interview, and we expect anyone joining the team to share them.
