Context AETHER is a key partner for intrapreneurial projects in Belgium, and we want to reinforce our support of key actors in the energy sector, who are facing interesting challenges regarding securing services that support safe, reliable and efficient infrastructure operations. New projects are therefore ongoing to ensure that Belgian companies secure the field services needed for reliable grid operations while controlling contractual risks and overall costs. Hence why we are looking for a medior Buyer Field Maintenance Services to strengthen our team of Project Partners. Task Description As an AETHER Project Partner embedded within the project team, your objective will be to manage a diverse field-service procurement portfolio supporting safe, reliable and efficient high-voltage grid operations, providing expert commercial guidance throughout sourcing and contract management while improving processes, managing risks and optimising Total Cost of Ownership.

Key Responsibilities
Might Include
• Developing and executing structured, innovative category and sourcing strategies for Field Services, aligned with procurement policy and business objectives.
• Acting as a trusted commercial partner to internal stakeholders, challenging requirements, shaping sourcing approaches and adding value from the earliest procurement stage.
• Building effective, lasting supplier relationships and ensuring clear communication and alignment among relevant stakeholders.
• Conducting market analyses, leading complex tenders and commercial negotiations, and managing contracts and strategic suppliers throughout their lifecycle.
• Identifying and managing commercial, contractual, operational and supplier risks, ensuring suitable mitigation measures are implemented.
• Ensuring accurate procurement contract implementation and follow-up in the ERP system and associated contract management tools.
• Leading cross-functional teams through transparent, structured and results-oriented collaboration, coordinating decisions across technical, operational, legal and financial stakeholders.
• Achieving the best balance between service, safety, quality, risk and cost to maximise organisational value. Profile
• Hold a master’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience in procurement, commercial management or contract management, preferably in technical services, construction, infrastructure or an industrial environment.
• Have a strong command of Dutch and French and a good professional command of English.
• Combine empathy, maturity and credibility to establish trusted relationships with internal customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Work autonomously, take ownership of complex files and assume a leading role while remaining a collaborative team player.
• Communicate clearly, decisively and in a structured way, including with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and commercial judgement, quickly translating complex information into sound recommendations and decisions.
• Bring proven negotiation skills and experience leading complex tenders and contract negotiations.
• Experience in project-based work, supplier performance management and collaboration with technical or operational teams is a strong asset.
• Be available for a full-time assignment scheduled from 06-10-2026 to 31-12-2027 under a secondment arrangement.
• Accept on-site work averaging two office days per week, with meetings and desk activities split between two locations in Brussels.
• Accept occasional travel to Berlin; travel costs to Germany are covered by the client.
• An entrepreneurial experience or ambition is a plus, including extra-professional or extra-academic activities.
