S. (Business & Engineering Solutions) is growing and is therefore looking for a Senior Product Development Engineer to join an automotive project focused on the design and development of innovative vehicle components. As part of this automotive product development project, you will contribute to the design, validation, and industrialization of complex components, ensuring that technical solutions meet quality, cost, timing, safety, and manufacturing requirements. The role combines advanced mechanical design expertise with project management responsibilities, including planning, coordination, and communication with multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with stakeholders from engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and suppliers to support the development process from the concept phase to production release. Your
responsibilities:
Manage product development activities, including planning, timing follow-up, technical coordination, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Design and develop automotive components, ensuring compliance with safety, packaging, comfort, functional, and vehicle requirements. Create and release 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing, ensuring proper tolerances, specifications, and design standards. Perform product studies to evaluate functional performance, feasibility, and manufacturability. Support the development of automotive components such as plastics, polyurethane parts, trim covers, armrests, and headrests, considering material behavior and manufacturing constraints. Prepare and manage technical documentation, including complexity matrices, Bill of Materials (BoM), and part matrices. Participate in benchmarking activities, VA/VE studies, design reviews, DFMEA, DRBFM, and engineering change processes. Apply problem-solving methodologies such as A3, PDCA, and 5 Why analysis to support continuous improvement. Analyze the impact of design modifications across multiple departments, including Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Suppliers. Contribute to cost optimization initiatives and ensure technical solutions align with project objectives.
Your profile
You have a minimum of 5-6 years of experience in automotive product development or mechanical design engineering. You have strong expertise in mechanical design, including knowledge of force calculations, mechanical stress analysis, tolerances, and stack-up analysis. You have experience in engineering project management and coordinating multidisciplinary activities. You have a strong understanding of automotive development processes, regulations, and quality standards. You are proficient in CATIA and experienced in 2D drawing creation and 3D modelling. You have knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, particularly related to automotive components. You are familiar with engineering methodologies such as DFMEA, DRBFM, A3 problem solving, PDCA, and 5 Why analysis. You are structured, proactive, and able to anticipate technical impacts while collaborating with multiple stakeholders. You have strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
