50% Brussels 110 days per year The Role You will work as part of a development team,contributing your backendexpertise to buildand run the services behind our solutions. Our solutions run mainly on Azure, deployedthrough Azure DevOpspipelines. Our currentstack is Java and Spring Boot. AI-assisted development is part of how we work. We value demonstrated experience over familiarity with the concepts. What You'llDo
• Design and build backendservices and APIs.
• Integrate with other systemsthrough well-defined contracts.
• Design and evolve the data model for each solution.
• Refine requirements with the Product Owner and functional experts, and assess technical feasibility.
• Apply software engineering best practices: clean code, automatedtesting, continuous integration and deployment.
• Run your services in production: monitoring, alerting, incident response.
• Take part in design and code reviews. What We're Looking For
• 5+ years building production backend services with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of software design and enterprise integration patterns, and the judgement to pick the right one or keep it simple.
• Experience with several architectural styles, for examplehexagonal, modular monolith, microservices, event-driven.
• Hands-on Azure and Azure DevOps experience.
• Data modelling and databasedesign skills. PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Solid delivery practice: automated testing, quality gates,DevSecOps.
• Experience in SAFe/Agile teams.
• A proactive mindset to review requirements, challenge assumptions when necessary, and raise concerns regarding feasibility or clarity.
• Experience with AI-assisted development, including handling the problems it introduces. Nice to have:event-driven systems (Kafka, ServiceBus), Cosmos DB, performance testing.
