A major Belgian administrative firm is expanding its internal reporting infrastructure, and we are bringing on an Intern
- Data Analyst to assist with the technical transition. This position focuses on the intersection of finance and data, ensuring that large-scale administrative figures translate into reliable reports for decision-makers. You will work closely with our consultants in a fully remote capacity to support this client and others across our portfolio. About Alpine Business Consulting Alpine Business Consulting works at the intersection of finance processes and the systems that support them. We specialize in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and analytics, helping finance teams fix platforms that never delivered on their promises. While we build new systems from scratch, much of our work involves remediating existing setups in Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and Power BI. We focus on the numbers side of the house, ensuring that consolidation rules, intercompany eliminations, and reporting pipelines reflect how a finance team actually operates. Our approach moves away from typical implementation theatre. We prioritize finance-first configurations and fixed-price engagements, giving our clients certainty before any work begins. We do not believe in keeping clients dependent on us. Instead, we build administrator training and documentation into every project so teams can run their systems independently after go-live. We are a remote-first team of consultants who understand that a dashboard is only useful if the data is accurate to the cent and available the morning a period closes. Whether it is a cloud migration or a complex forecasting model, we value precision over presentation. What You Will Do
- Organize and clean financial data sets to prepare them for migration into EPM platforms.
- Assist consultants in configuring data models that support financial consolidation and forecasting.
- Build and update reporting dashboards in Power BI to reflect the specific needs of finance users.
- Validate data accuracy by comparing system outputs against source accounting records.
- Document the steps taken in data mapping to ensure the process is repeatable for the client.
- Participate in internal remote meetings to review project progress and troubleshoot data discrepancies.
- Help create technical training manuals that explain system functions to client administrators.
- Conduct basic testing of new system features to ensure they handle intercompany eliminations correctly. What We Are Looking For
- A basic understanding of accounting or finance principles, such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Comfort using Excel for data tasks, including the use of basic formulas and pivot tables.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to verifying that the numbers are correct.
- Curiosity about how large organizations manage their data and financial reporting.
- The ability to explain technical ideas clearly using plain English.
- A disciplined approach to working remotely and managing your own tasks.
- Prior experience or coursework involving data analysis, statistics, or business information systems.
- Willingness to learn enterprise software tools like Oracle, SAP, or specialized EPM platforms.
What We Offer
- A fully remote working environment that provides flexibility and focuses on high-quality output.
- Practical experience working on complex data projects for large-scale international organizations.
- Direct mentorship from senior consultants who have deep expertise in finance and technology.
- The opportunity to work with enterprise-level tools that are used by major companies worldwide.
- A straightforward culture where we value honesty, clarity, and getting the job done right.
- The position is paid and the pay is competitive for the role and current market.
- Exposure to the reality of business consulting, away from the typical corporate buzzwords. How We Work Our philosophy centers on clarity and client independence. We avoid the endless cycles often found in large-scale software projects by sticking to fixed-price engagements and well-defined scopes. This means we focus on delivering exactly what the finance team needs to close their books and report their numbers accurately. We do not try to create long-term reliance on our services. Instead, we make sure every project includes the training and documentation needed for the client to take full ownership of their system. By the time a project is finished, the platform should be simple enough for their own team to maintain without outside help.
