Web Developer Intern

Alpine Business Consulting is looking for a Web Developer Intern to support a major engagement for our partner, a Brussels-based firm. In this fully remote position, you will help build and maintain the web interfaces that finance teams use to manage their data and reporting. You will bridge the gap between back-end finance systems and the user-facing tools our clients rely on every day. About Alpine Business Consulting Alpine Business Consulting works at the intersection of finance processes and the systems that support them. We specialize in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and analytics, helping finance teams fix platforms that never delivered on their promises. While we build new systems from scratch, much of our work involves remediating existing setups in Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and Power BI. We focus on the numbers side of the house, ensuring that consolidation rules, intercompany eliminations, and reporting pipelines reflect how a finance team actually operates. Our approach moves away from typical implementation theatre. We prioritize finance-first configurations and fixed-price engagements, giving our clients certainty before any work begins. We do not believe in keeping clients dependent on us. Instead, we build administrator training and documentation into every project so teams can run their systems independently after go-live. We are a remote-first team of consultants who understand that a dashboard is only useful if the data is accurate to the cent and available the morning a period closes. Whether it is a cloud migration or a complex forecasting model, we value precision over presentation. What You Will Do
- Assist in building and styling front-end interfaces for reporting portals and internal finance tools.
- Review existing code in Power BI or similar reporting tools to ensure layouts are clean and accessible.
- Work with senior consultants to translate finance reporting requirements into functional web components.
- Help document front-end configurations so that client administrators can manage the tools after the project ends.
- Test web-based reporting pipelines to ensure data displays correctly across different browsers and devices.
- Contribute to the development of internal templates for project dashboards and client portals.
- Participate in remote team meetings to discuss technical progress and project milestones.
- Organize and update technical documentation to reflect the final build of client interfaces. What We Are Looking For
- A basic understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Curiosity about how finance systems work and how data moves from a database to a dashboard.
- A high level of attention to detail, specifically regarding layout consistency and data accuracy.
- The ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying communicative with the team.
- Willingness to learn about Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tools and finance-specific technical requirements.
- Prior experience with personal projects, coursework, or a previous internship involving web development.
- Effective writing skills for creating clear documentation and technical guides.
- A pragmatic approach to problem-solving and a focus on delivering functional, simple solutions.
