As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Junior Sensory & Consumer Specialist to join ALLinFood. In this consulting role, you will be fully dedicated to one of our key clients, Cargill, and work on-site with their Sensory & Consumer team in Mouscron, Belgium.
Job Purpose and Impact
As an
ALLinFood consultant working on-site at Cargill
, you will join
Cargill's Sensory & Consumer Expertise Department
, a global team of
more than 30 scientists worldwide
. You will be responsible for
managing the cocoa and chocolate expert panel
and collaborating closely with Sensory & Consumer Specialists and Experts to support the planning and execution of sensory research projects.
In this exciting position, you will
lead the French-speaking sensory panel
to ensure it performs at its best by delivering
reliable sensory data
that support product development across Cargill's innovative portfolio. Together with the experts, you will also be responsible for
testing agile sensory methodologies
and ensuring data are collected in a pragmatic and consistent way.
You will lead the
monitoring, maintenance and continuous improvement of the panel
, as well as
designing and implementing training when needed
. Together with the Sensory Technical Support team, you will ensure that sensory best practices are well documented and implemented. You will also get the opportunity to lead your own research projects, with guidance from Senior Scientists along the way.
Key Accountabilities
You will be dedicated to
leading expert panel sessions,
ensuring that
high-quality sensory data
are collected in a consistent and standardized manner. You will also be responsible for
monitoring panel performance
and proposing improvement actions when needed.
- Design, manage and execute sensory expert panel sessions for data collection.
- Moderate panel discussions, training sessions and implement agile (or new) sensory methodologies.
- Coach Sensory Technical Support to ensure sessions are prepared according to sensory best practices.
- Monitor panel performance and propose improvement actions based on relevant findings.
- Communicate top-line results to the Sensory & Consumer Specialists and Experts.
- Align with sensory specialists on specific methods and sessions for the panel.
- Program electronic questionnaires for collecting sensory data (EyeQuestion).
- Oversee the overall operations of the sensory lab.
- Develop and maintain continuous motivation for all members of the sensory panel.
- Support Senior Scientists in project management and the execution of sensory research projects. Qualifications
- Master's degree in Sensory & Consumer Science , Consumer Psychology or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of sensory techniques and sensory panel motivation and moderation.
- Familiarity with statistics to assess panel performance and verify data quality.
- Ideally, a first experience in the FMCG industry.
- Excellent team player with strong influencing skills and a can-do mentality.
- Experience in designing statistical tools and experimental designs for data interpretation is a plus.
- Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Additional languages are a plus. Start date: as soon as possible
