Ghent, Belgium Contract: Freelance Language: Fluent Dutch – essential Working arrangement: Hybrid The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Operations & Client Services Unit Manager to join an established organisation operating within the financial services, wealth management and financial advisory sector. This is a key leadership position, sitting between senior management and the consultants, with responsibility for ensuring that the company's strategy, objectives and action plans are effectively translated into day-to-day operational activities and successfully delivered. The successful candidate will take ownership of leading, managing and developing a team of consultants, ensuring they understand the company's objectives, have clear expectations and are consistently delivering against agreed targets and business priorities. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in leading teams, managing performance and driving results. Strong people skills are extremely important, but these must be underpinned by genuine management experience and the ability to take responsibility for team performance and business delivery.

Key Responsibilities
People Leadership & Team Management
- Take overall responsibility for leading, managing and developing a team of consultants and client-facing professionals.
- Set clear objectives, expectations and performance standards, ensuring individuals and teams are accountable for delivering results.
- Demonstrate strong leadership through a combination of direction, support, coaching and motivation.
- Manage both the hard and soft aspects of people management, including performance reviews, target setting, development, motivation and addressing underperformance.
- Build strong working relationships with consultants, creating an environment where people feel supported, engaged and motivated to perform.
- Have the confidence and management capability to challenge individuals, address difficult situations and make decisions when required. Operational Management & Business Execution
- Translate the company's strategic objectives, management decisions and business plans into clear operational action plans.
- Ensure that consultants understand and effectively implement agreed processes, initiatives and business priorities in their daily activities.
- Take ownership of ensuring that company objectives are translated into tangible results across the team.
- Monitor implementation, follow up on progress and intervene where objectives or expectations are not being met.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with senior management to ensure alignment between business strategy, team activities and operational delivery. Management & Leadership Experience – Essential
- Demonstrable experience in a management position with direct responsibility for leading and managing a team.
- Strong experience managing teams of consultants, advisers or other client-facing professionals.
- A proven track record of setting objectives, managing performance and ensuring teams deliver against company targets and business goals.
- Experience managing both the operational and people-related aspects of a team.
- The ability to translate company strategy into practical actions and ensure these are implemented effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and challenge individuals.
- A hands-on, pragmatic and results-driven management approach.
- Experience within wealth management, private banking, financial services, insurance or financial advisory would be highly advantageous. Additional Requirements
- Fluent Dutch is essential.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working closely with both senior management and frontline teams.
