JOB DESCRIPTION
Context
- The Infrastructure Department of the Client has an important supporting task to enable quality education and to support the further growth of Client. The department manages the Client patrimony at a strategic level, supervises the realization of large construction projects and is responsible for the purchase and sale of land and buildings. To this end, it works closely with the school groups, which are responsible for minor renovation work and the regular maintenance of the buildings, and with the schools that use the infrastructure on a daily basis.
- The infrastructure department consists of four teams: Housing Strategy, Construction Project Management, Contract Management and Heritage Management. The assignment is situated within the Heritage Management team. This team is responsible for the development of the infrastructure policy and for optimizing and supporting heritage management and infrastructure works within the Client. It develops instruments and policy frameworks, supports the preparation of management plans and provides reliable and up-to-date knowledge of the patrimony. In addition, the team works on patrimonial data and supporting systems, including IWMS and GIS applications, with the aim of keeping data up to date, making it accessible and supporting processes efficiently.
- The infrastructure department within Client helps build Client datahub, the central analytical data platform based on Microsoft Fabric within Client with the enrichment of infrastructure and patrimonial data. This platform supports data-driven policy decisions, operational insights and strategic reporting on a large and diverse building heritage.
- For the further development of this data platform, we are looking for an experienced data professional who is strong in both backend data engineering and in unlocking data via semantic models and Power BI reporting. The role combines building robust data pipelines and data models with developing high-performance and user-friendly reporting for our users. SKILLS
- Demonstrable experience as a Data Engineer-Must Have (Senior – 5 years)
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines-Must Have (Senior – 5 years)
- Demonstrable experience with programming languages such as Python, Java or Scala for developing data streams and ETL processes-Must Have – Yes/No
- Proven experience of building reports/dashboards on Power BI-Must Have (Senior – 5 years)
- Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR
- level C2.-Must Have – Yes/No
- Demonstrable basic knowledge of Agile development methodology-Should Have – Yes/No
- Proven experience in designing and implementing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes-Should Have – Yes/No
- Demonstrable experience with databases-Should Have – Yes/No
- Proven experience with dbt or analytics engineering concepts-Should Have – Yes/No
- Proven experience with Git and versioning workflows. -Should Have (Senior – 5 years)
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Fabric or the Azure data stack (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse). -Should Have (Senior – 5 years)
