Brussels, Belgium Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Engineer with strong experience in IBM Mainframe development and functional design . The role involves complex system design, application development, technical validation, and collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex software applications with a high degree of autonomy.
- Translate business requirements and operational constraints into functional and data models.
- Ensure application designs meet business, operational, architectural, and non-functional requirements.
- Participate in detailed system design and define scope and objectives for projects.
- Review program specifications, coding, testing, and debugging activities.
- Contribute to application design standards, reusable patterns, frameworks, and tools.
- Support application testing and production issue resolution when required.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams.
- Maintain high-quality design documentation throughout the application lifecycle.
- Provide coaching and guidance to junior IT professionals.
- Contribute to major IT projects and complex application initiatives. Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience as a developer and functional designer.
- Strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies.
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- PL/I (PLI)
- DB2
- MQ
- CICS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to navigate complex systems and identify practical solutions.
- Solution-oriented and proactive mindset.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience working on major IT projects. Additional Technologies
