Temporary Buyer, Marketing & Sales Procurement (80%) | Freelance Assignment

About the role
Spadel is looking for an experienced Buyer to join its Benefralux Procurement Team on a temporary 80% basis to cover a maternity leave. In this role, you will manage a Marketing & Sales procurement portfolio across Belgium, the Netherlands and France, ensuring business continuity, delivering stakeholder support and maintaining effective supplier relationships. The assignment is expected to run from January until mid-April and includes handover periods to ensure a smooth transition before and after the maternity leave. Reporting line & geographical scope Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager you will work closely with Marketing & Sales stakeholders across Belgium, France and the Netherlands. - Spend under management : €15,37 million
- Main procurement categories : Marketing & Creative Services (Media buying, Creative & Digital advertising, Branding & design, Public relations (PR)), Trade Marketing & POS, Market research, marketing & sales technology, Marketing & Sales Logistics, Sales & Retail Support (merchandising services, retail data services)
- Stakeholder community : Marketing & Sales teams across the Benefralux region Practical information Assignment duration: January until mid-April (maternity leave replacement) Working schedule: 80% (4/5)

Location:

- Regular presence in our Brussels office (min 1 day per week on Tuesday or Thursday)
- Occasional travel to the Netherlands (Made), depending on business needs.
- Homeworking for the rest of the week is allowed Your responsibilities 1. Procurement & Category Management
- Manage and finalize ongoing procurement projects within the Marketing & Sales category.
- Support internal stakeholders with new sourcing and procurement requests.
- Lead sourcing activities including RFI, RFQ and RFP processes where required.
- Ensure compliance with procurement strategies, policies and procedures
- Proactively identify value creation opportunities and support category objectives. 1. Supplier Negotiation & Contract Management
- Lead supplier negotiations (if required) to secure optimal commercial conditions in terms of cost, quality, service and total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Draft, negotiate and implement supplier contracts (if required) in collaboration with the Legal Department.
- Conduct market analyses, supplier benchmarking, spend analyses and cost evaluations (if required) to support sourcing decisions.
- Ensure contractual commitments are properly implemented and monitored. 1. Supplier Relationship Management
- Maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers across the category.
- Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives where required.
- Manage supplier-related issues, escalations and risk mitigation actions where required. 1. Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted procurement partner for Marketing & Sales stakeholders across the Benefralux region.
- Provide guidance and support on procurement processes, sourcing strategies and purchasing policies.
- Challenge business requirements where appropriate and promote best procurement practices.
- Support SAP procurement activities and purchasing-related requests.

Your profile

- Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement, ideally within indirect procurement categories.
- Previous experience managing Marketing, Sales, Media or Marketing Services procurement categories is a strong asset.
- Comfortable operating autonomously and managing multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to quickly understand ongoing projects and ensure business continuity in a temporary assignment.
- Professional fluency in English and either French or Dutch.
- Knowledge of the second national language is considered an asset.
