- Brussels Overview We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Security & Exchange Online Security Consultant to design, implement, support, and optimise security solutions across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in Exchange Online security , Microsoft Defender , Microsoft Purview , Microsoft Entra ID , and broader Microsoft 365 security technologies. Working directly with customers and stakeholders, you will assess existing security postures, deliver security improvement programmes, implement best-practice solutions, and provide technical leadership across Microsoft 365 environments.
Key Responsibilities
Exchange Online Security
- Design and implement Exchange Online security solutions.
- Configure and manage:
- Exchange Online Protection (EOP)
- Microsoft Defender for Office 365
- Anti-spam and anti-phishing policies
- Safe Links and Safe Attachments
- Mail flow rules and transport rules
- DKIM, SPF, and DMARC
- Secure mail routing and email authentication
- Investigate and remediate email-based security threats.
- Monitor and respond to phishing, malware, and business email compromise incidents. Microsoft 365 Security
- Implement and manage Microsoft 365 security frameworks and controls.
- Configure security baselines and best practices across Microsoft 365 workloads.
- Deploy and support:
- Microsoft Defender XDR
- Defender for Endpoint
- Defender for Identity
- Defender for Cloud Apps
- Defender for Office 365
- Conduct security assessments and health checks.
- Develop and maintain security architecture documentation. Identity & Access Management
- Implement Microsoft Entra ID security controls.
- Configure:
- Conditional Access
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
- Identity Protection
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Support Zero Trust security initiatives. Required Skills & Experience Essential
- 5+ years of Microsoft 365 administration and security experience.
- Strong expertise in:
- Exchange Online
- Microsoft Defender Suite
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Purview
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Experience implementing:
- Conditional Access
- MFA
- PIM
- DLP
- Defender for Office 365
- Strong knowledge of:
- SPF
- DKIM
- DMARC
- SMTP mail flow
- Email security best practices
- Experience with PowerShell automation and scripting.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture.
- Excellent stakeholder management and consulting skills.
- Strong documentation and presentation abilities. Certifications (any will be considered) Preferred
- Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
- Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate (SC-300)
- Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
- Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate (MS-102 / equivalent)
- Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate Additional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are advantageous.
