Overview:
\*\*\*This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP\*\*\*

Performs advanced carpentry and building-repair tasks requiring journeyman-level skill. Constructs, repairs, and finishes wood, metal-stud, and concrete structures; installs doors, frames, and hardware; fabricates cabinetry and specialty items. Interprets complex drawings, estimates materials, and mentors junior staff. Ensures work quality, code compliance, and site safety on assigned projects per LOGCAP V/V2X standards.
Responsibilities:

- Constructs, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to building codes.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

Education:
High school diploma or trade school certificate
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Experience:
- Six to seven years carpentry experience in facility maintenance or construction
- Ability to read blueprints and apply trade mathematics
- Familiarity with Unified Facility codes (UFC) and QA/QC processes
- Skilled in framing, drywall, finish work, and minor concrete/masonry
- Valid driver’s license
- Certificates:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Card (required within 90 days of hire)
- Scaffold User / Builder Certification (preferred)
- First Aid / CPR Certification (required within 90 days of hire)
- Forklift Operator Card (preferred)
- Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical, environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
