Job Description
Company Overview Abiologics, Inc. is a privately held, early-stage biotechnology company pioneering the development of Synteins™ , a transformational class of macromolecular medicines. Founded through Flagship Pioneering's venture creation engine—which also conceived Moderna Therapeutics and Generate Biomedicines—Abiologics combines novel synthetic and computational technologies to advance therapeutic innovation. About This Role The Lab Operations Specialist plays a central role at the interface of multiple disciplines in our Synteins™ discovery effort. You will enable operational excellence across chemistry, biology, and automation workflows, directly accelerating the pace at which new therapeutic candidates move from concept to experiment. This role offers opportunities to shape laboratory infrastructure, improve operational workflows, and grow alongside an emerging biotechnology company.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations
- Collaborate daily with chemists, biologists, protein engineers, automation scientists, and computational researchers as a trusted operational partner
- Partner with researchers and vendors to maximize laboratory uptime and ensure critical discovery platforms remain available
- Strategically plan for instrument maintenance, upgrades, and repairs (HPLC-MS, high-resolution mass spectrometers, peptide synthesizers, biolayer interferometry)
- Oversee waste disposal and ensure compliance with laboratory safety and environmental regulations
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through process improvements, automation, and adoption of new laboratory technologies Inventory Management
- Build and continuously improve systems enabling rapid scientist access to compounds, reagents, and research materials
- Develop and oversee efficient systems for managing compounds and research samples throughout their lifecycle
- Maintain accurate digital records supporting sample traceability and research reproducibility
- Perform periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies Ideal Candidate Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with experience managing laboratory inventories, coordinating logistics, and maintaining laboratory instrumentation in fast-paced research environments.
