The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering team to ensure the successful installation, testing, and operational handover of electrical systems, ensuring all work meets the highest safety and quality standards.

About the Role
GerTEK is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to support the construction and commissioning phases of a major data centre infrastructure project in Farciennes, Belgium. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering team to ensure the successful installation, testing, and operational handover of electrical systems, ensuring all work meets the highest safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning: Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including MV/LV switchgear, power distribution units, backup power systems (generators/UPS), and grounding infrastructure.
- Testing & Verification: Perform functional testing, continuity checks, and performance verification for all installed electrical assets.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Identify, document, and resolve technical issues during the installation and commissioning phases, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to project schedules.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of test results, commissioning logs, and "as-built" documentation. Report progress and technical blockers to the Commissioning Manager.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to project safety protocols, electrical codes, and regulations. Manage LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) and permit-to-work requirements in a live site environment.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with contractors, project managers, and onsite stakeholders to coordinate electrical activities and ensure seamless integration of site systems. Qualifications

Experience:
Proven background as an Electrical Technician, specifically within data centre, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial construction environments.
- System Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical distribution, power systems (MV/LV), and control/monitoring systems.
- Certification: Relevant electrical trade qualifications/certifications. HV switching authorization (SAP status) is highly desirable.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical faults on site.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to document work accurately and participate in site coordination meetings.
- Site Readiness: Ability to work in a dynamic construction environment and adapt to fast-paced project timelines. Note: This role is based on-site in Farciennes, Belgium. Please specify your current work authorization status and availability in your application.
