Role:
Senior Data Architect / AI Consultant
Location:
VITO, hybrid Start: 01/09/2026 End: 18/12/2026 Workload: 60% Language: Dutch C2 Mission We are looking for an experienced Data Architect / AI Consultant to develop a proof of concept showing how AI/GenAI can support strategic business decisions by connecting internal portfolio data with external market, funding, customer and ecosystem signals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI/GenAI decision-support POCs.
- Develop information architecture, semantic models, taxonomies, ontologies or knowledge graphs.
- Connect internal portfolio information with external data sources and market intelligence.
- Translate business questions into practical AI workflows and solutions.
- Define data, governance, quality and human-in-the-loop validation approaches.
- Assess scalability from the POC to approximately 50 Responsible Departments.
- Provide recommendations on architecture, tooling, governance, roles and next steps.
- Work closely with business stakeholders in a knowledge-intensive environment. Must-Have
- 8+ years of Data Architecture experience.
- Proven experience designing data strategies and architectures.
- Strong experience with information architecture, semantic models, taxonomies, ontologies or knowledge graphs.
- Experience with AI/GenAI for business intelligence, strategy intelligence or decision support.
- Dutch C2/native-level proficiency. Nice-to-Have
- Conceptual-to-logical data modelling.
- Data Management and data standards.
- Programming/scripting experience.
- AI workflow and POC development.
- Stakeholder management in knowledge-intensive organizations. Key Profile A senior consultant who can effectively combine AI/GenAI, data architecture, business value, information architecture and organizational scalability —not purely a technical profile.
