Group IPS is an international EPCM company delivering complex engineering, procurement and construction management projects across Europe and beyond. Our Project Managers lead projects from start to finish, acting as the main point of contact for clients, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing scope, budget, schedule, quality, risks and safety. This role follows the structured IPS project methodology and works closely with senior project leadership, engineering coordination and project piloting functions. The Role We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer or Architect to perform as Project Manager to join our team in Mechelen, Belgium , and lead complex building projects with an investment value of approximately 35 million euros . This position is ideal for a senior civil, architect or building engineer who has evolved beyond technical design and is able to take ownership of complex projects as a Project Manager . The successful candidate will combine strong buldings technical judgment ( CS&A and Utilities) with the ability to coordinate engineering, procurement, contractors, contract management, planning, budget, risks, client communication and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for leading complex building projects through the full project lifecycle, including feasibility, project definition, basic design, procurement, construction management and project close-out. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including civil, structural, architectural, MEP, EHS, procurement, cost control, contract management, planning and construction stakeholders.
- Act as the main interface with the client, ensuring clear communication, decision tracking and alignment on scope, cost, schedule and risks.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, quality, risks, safety and stakeholder expectations.
- Coordinate the development and follow-up of key project documents such as the Project Execution Plan, Project Definition File, Overall Time Schedule, risk register, procurement strategy, reporting dashboards and decision logs.
- Ensure proper coordination between design disciplines, contractors and client stakeholders.
- Review technical solutions from a project perspective, ensuring constructability, maintainability, cost-effectiveness and alignment with client requirements.
- Support and coordinate procurement activities, including package definition, technical RFQs, bid reviews, negotiation support and post-order follow-up.
- Monitor contractor and supplier performance during execution, including milestones, progress, change orders, quality, safety and commissioning readiness.
- Lead project meetings, internal coordination meetings, client meetings and steering committee preparation.
- Identify project risks early and define mitigation plans with the project team.
- Escalate critical issues with clear options, recommandations and decision criteria. Project Scope You will work mainly on:
- Real estate and Industrial building projects.
- Complex building projects involving civil works, structures, architecture, utilities, MEP and process-related interfaces.
- Greenfield and brownfield investments.
- Projects requiring strong coordination between design, permitting, procurement, construction and client operations.
- Projects with CAPEX typically between 10 M€ and 50 M€ , first mission with a project dimension of 35M€ Investment on education sector. Required Profile We are looking for someone with:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent.
- Around 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, architecture, project management, Real Estate and/or industrial construction or complex project delivery.
- Proven experience coordinating or managing projects with significant CAPEX, ideally above 20 M€ .
- Strong understanding of civil works, structures, building design, construction sequencing and technical coordination.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
- Ability to manage project scope, planning, budget, risks, quality and client communication.
- Good understanding of procurement, contractor follow-up, change management and project reporting.
- Experience with project management tools and collaborative platforms such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, BIM tools, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD or Autodesk Construction Cloud. Language Requirements For this position, the following languages are important: English: required, professional working level. Dutch: required, professional working level. French: highly valued as a third language, especially for coordination with local stakeholders, contractors, authorities and Belgian project environments.
