Frontend Engineer Intern

This internship supports a large-scale project for a major logistics provider, focusing on the interface between their financial reporting and internal data platforms. You will work within our remote team to improve how finance users interact with their performance management systems. This is a fully remote role where your work directly impacts how a large organization views and acts upon its financial data. About Alpine Business Consulting Alpine Business Consulting works at the intersection of finance processes and the systems that support them. We specialize in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and analytics, helping finance teams fix platforms that never delivered on their promises. While we build new systems from scratch, much of our work involves remediating existing setups in Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and Power BI. We focus on the numbers side of the house, ensuring that consolidation rules, intercompany eliminations, and reporting pipelines reflect how a finance team actually operates. Our approach moves away from typical implementation theatre. We prioritize finance-first configurations and fixed-price engagements, giving our clients certainty before any work begins. We do not believe in keeping clients dependent on us. Instead, we build administrator training and documentation into every project so teams can run their systems independently after go-live. We are a remote-first team of consultants who understand that a dashboard is only useful if the data is accurate to the cent and available the morning a period closes. Whether it is a cloud migration or a complex forecasting model, we value precision over presentation. What You Will Do
- Build and maintain functional user interfaces for financial dashboards and internal reporting tools.
- Assist in translating financial data requirements into interactive components using JavaScript and modern frameworks.
- Help debug and refine existing frontend code within Power BI environments or custom EPM extensions.
- Collaborate with senior consultants to ensure that data visualizations align perfectly with accounting logic.
- Create and update technical documentation for interface configurations so client teams can manage them later.
- Test new interface features across various devices to ensure consistent performance for global finance users.
- Participate in remote standups and coordination meetings to track progress against project milestones.
- Support the styling and layout of financial reports to ensure clarity and professional presentation of data. What We Are Looking For
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with an interest in expanding these skills.
- Familiarity with data visualization concepts or a curiosity about tools like Power BI and Tableau.
- A strong interest in how technology supports business, accounting, and finance operations.
- High attention to detail, especially regarding the layout and accuracy of numerical information.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own tasks in a fully remote environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical internal discussions.
- A willingness to learn the fundamentals of Enterprise Performance Management systems and financial consolidation.
- Prior experience with personal or academic projects involving web development or data analysis.
