Job description
As a BHS Software Engineer, you take ownership of baggage handling applications, production support, system integration and configuration for international airport installations. You work on mission-critical airport systems, solve complex operational issues and contribute to the reliability of baggage handling operations while collaborating with airport stakeholders, equipment vendors and international project teams. Zoom on the job: act as the primary maintenance engineer for baggage handling applications across international airport sites diagnose and resolve production incidents including display issues, sorting problems, flight data discrepancies and system performance issues perform root cause analysis on complex software issues related to baggage messaging, sortation control and workflow processing prepare and present maintenance reports to airport stakeholders collaborate with on-site technicians, airport IT teams and third-party equipment suppliers to resolve cross-system issues lead the technical integration between EDAS software and third-party baggage handling systems develop and maintain connectors between BHS applications and industrial equipment such as sorters, conveyors and scanners configure security settings, resolve communication protocol issues and ensure reliable production data flows configure and maintain baggage tracking, sortation and reconciliation systems design and test high-availability and redundancy configurations provide 2nd and 3rd line support across the EDAS BHS application suite work with message brokers, IATA messaging standards and real-time data processing pipelines work with industrial communication protocols including OPC UA and IATA 1745 BSM messaging maintain sortation allocation interfaces for real-time baggage routing troubleshoot workflow engines, message broker integrations and sortation logic integrate systems with airline departure control systems and baggage reconciliation platforms maintain technical documentation including configuration documents, integration specifications, troubleshooting guides and operational runbooks document connector behaviour, deployment procedures and redundancy configurations contribute to knowledge sharing and the internal knowledge base identify recurring issues and implement permanent improvements contribute to software stabilisation initiatives across the application portfolio participate in test environment development and virtual airport test platforms contribute to software refactoring activities to improve maintainability and code quality Profile Come as you are, ideally with: bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, industrial automation or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience minimum 3 years of experience in software engineering, systems integration or technical support within an industrial, logistics, transport or 24/7 production environment experience with baggage handling applications, baggage tracking, sortation and reconciliation systems solid knowledge of OPC UA, IATA 1745 BSM, SITA messaging, MQTT, AMQP and system integration concepts strong debugging and root cause analysis skills across application, database, network and protocol layers experience with C# (.
NET Framework/.
NET Core), Python, PowerShell or Bash knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, stored procedures, database performance tuning and data migration processes experience with Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS) administration familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, VPN, RDP, SSH and secure remote connectivity experience with Git, GitLab, GitHub, CI/CD concepts, Docker, Jira and Confluence understanding of network troubleshooting, firewalls, TLS/SSL and industrial network segmentation knowledge of baggage handling architecture, SAC systems, BMR, airline DCS integration and IATA airport operations standards able to produce clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with customers, partners and colleagues organised and comfortable managing activities across multiple sites and projects collaborative approach with the ability to work independently when required knowledge of French (both written and spoken — valuable for communication with many airport stakeholders) Offer What if you became BHS Software Engineer at Equans?
