HR Business Partner

About the role

In this high-impact role within our matrix organization, the HR BP leads, coaches, and develops the local HR team in Turnhout, Belgium, while serving as a strategic business partner to the local leadership team and reporting directly to the HR Director. This position also offers a clear career pathway to take on a regional HR leadership role within the Regional Leadership Team within a foreseeable timeframe. 

Key Responsibilities

This position operates on a hybrid work model out of our Turnhout, Belgium location.

• Develop, deploy, and lead the implementation of HR strategies supporting business objectives, corporate and legal requirements, including DE&I, employee wellbeing, leadership development, and employee engagement.

• Partner with European HR leadership, Corporate Functional HR Leaders, OD, and TA teams to deliver strategic HR initiatives and drive the effective implementation of the performance management system.

• Implement processes and systems to support recruitment of high-caliber talent, enhance HR capability and service delivery, and drive succession planning tools.

• Lead communication, culture, health, wellbeing, and community programs, ensuring Turnhout HR policies and processes align with legal, business, and cultural requirements.

• Manage collective labor agreement (CLA) negotiations, foster collaboration with unions and works councils, and coach the local leadership team to drive an engaging company culture.

• 10+ years work experience in generalist human resources positions, ideally within a manufacturing environment and at manager level.

• Solid (working) experience in Belgium employment legislation, employee relations & collective agreements negotiation, as well as strategic planning and analytical/financial skills.

• Exceptional leadership and influencing skills combined with a passion for continuous improvement/innovation / change management / cross-cultural awareness/diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to be an inspirational coach and empower your team.

• Fluent in English and Dutch.

• Skilled in building key relationships at all levels of the organization with an “executive maturity” mindset to work as a “Business Partner”.
