Third line is where the tickets arrive that nobody else could close. This post covers a portfolio of commercial applications running on Windows and Linux servers: deploying them, integrating them with identity providers, keeping them healthy, and answering for them when they are not.

Alongside the established estate there is genuinely new work — deploying and supporting AI-based tools and agents, and integrating them with the existing applications in production.

What you would be doing

  • Deploy and manage server applications on Windows and Linux.
  • Integrate applications with identity providers, and support client deployment to end-user workstations.
  • Manage and configure Atlassian products across the estate.
  • Maintain the operational and support environments, and monitor application performance.
  • Manage identity groups and roles, and configure cloud components across Azure and AWS.
  • Deploy, configure and support AI-based solutions and agents, and their integration with the applications.
  • Provide second and third line support for end-user queries, and resolve software problems with minimal disruption.
  • Monitor the incident process, keep tickets accurate and resolve within the service levels.
  • Escalate to vendor support where that is genuinely the answer, and follow it through.
  • Build the knowledge base and contribute to requirements analysis and change requests.
  • Support security approval and accreditation of applications, and check compliance with the applicable regulations.

What you would bring

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and IIS-based web applications.
  • Good knowledge of cloud deployment on both AWS and Azure, and a solid grasp of PKI and networking.
  • Software engineering breadth: HTML5, REST and web services, XML, HTTP, SQL, plus identity integration with OAuth, OIDC or SAML2.
  • Experience with IIS, JBoss or Apache Tomcat, and .NET applications.
  • Extensive experience deploying and managing client-server applications and application integration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and a genuine service orientation — this role is judged on how users get on.
  • Full proficiency in English; French is an advantage.
