Overview

PM Group are seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to join our data center construction project team in Mons, Belgium.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering design and construction activities for hyperscale data center cooling systems, HVAC infrastructure, and process piping installations

Oversee design development of chilled water systems, air handling units, cooling towers, and precision cooling equipment for high-density server environments

Coordinate with electrical and structural teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within hyperscale facility requirements

Manage mechanical contractors and subcontractors to deliver systems on schedule while maintaining quality standards and budget compliance

Review and approve mechanical submittals, equipment specifications, and installation drawings for critical cooling infrastructure

Supervise commissioning activities including system startup, performance testing, and optimization of mechanical systems for maximum efficiency

Ensure compliance with industry standards for mission critical facilities including energy efficiency requirements, and redundancy protocols

Conduct technical reviews of mechanical equipment procurement and vendor qualification processes

Provide technical expertise during construction troubleshooting and coordinate resolution of mechanical system issues


Qualifications

Minimum 8 years' experience in mechanical systems design and construction, with specific expertise in data center or mission-critical facilities Proven experience with data center cooling systems, chilled water plants, and high-density server cooling solutions Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, energy management systems, and mechanical system commissioning procedures Professional Engineer license or equivalent professional certification preferred Experience managing large-scale construction teams and coordinating with multidisciplinary project stakeholders Proficiency with mechanical design software, BIM coordination tools, and project management platformsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
