For the expansion of our HR team, argenx is looking for an HR Business Partner, Science located in Ghent.
Purpose of the Role
The Human Resources Business Partner, Science is a strategic partner to argonauts, leaders and teams across the Science organisation. The role translates business priorities into clear people priorities and practical solutions that strengthen leadership, talent, team effectiveness, organisational health and culture. The role helps build the company we want to work for and enables Science teams to perform, grow and deliver meaningful impact for patients.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategy: partner with leaders to translate business strategy into focused people priorities and plans. The role focuses on facilitating how work happens across the organisation: how teams are formed and evolve, how leadership shows up without hierarchy, how talent flows across the ecosystem and how culture scales. Success is measured by global enterprise impact: stronger teams, faster decisions and better outcomes for patients.Talent: Shape talent strategy and lead talent reviews, Succession planning and support personal development discussions. Support leaders in attracting, developing, engaging and retaining strong and diverse talent. Organization architect: lead workforce planning, organizational design and effectiveness initiatives. Identify people-related opportunities and risks through business understanding, data and employee insights. Leadership amplifier: coach argonauts to strengthen leadership impact, team effectiveness and organizational health. Enable business evolution and help leaders and teams navigate growth, transformation and changing priorities. Culture: strengthen an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing culture grounded in the argenx way. Campus: partner with argonauts, leaders and teams to further develop the Ghent Campus as a vibrant innovation hub, enabling a strong culture, exceptional talent, and cross-functional collaboration. Other: advise leaders and employees on performance, employee relations and other people matters in partnership with local and regional Human Resources colleagues.Partner with Human Resources specialist teams to deliver talent, learning, rewards, recognition and engagement priorities.Ensure people practices are applied consistently and in line with company policies and local requirements.Skills and Competencies
Strong business understanding and the ability to connect people priorities with scientific and organisational goals.Proven ability to build trust, influence and challenge constructively at all organisational levels.Strong leadership coaching, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.Deep knowledge of talent management, organisational design, team effectiveness and employee relations.Sound judgement, integrity and discretion when handling sensitive matters.Clear, concise and engaging communication skills.Analytical and pragmatic approach, with the ability to turn insights into action.Collaborative mindset and commitment to shared ownership and collective success.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a global, multi-functional Human Resources teamCurious, entrepreneurial mindset aligned with the argenx cultural pillars of innovation, co-creation, empowerment, excellence and humilityEducation, Experience & Qualifications
Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field, or equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience working as a strategic HR Business partner or in similar roles Demonstrated experience in organizational design, change management, coaching and talent managementExperience within a global, complex organization, preferably within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals or life sciencesFluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is a significant advantage, enabling strong collaboration within
