We are looking for a Senior Scientist – Neuroinflammation (In Vivo) who is passionate, collaborative and driven to join us in our Neuroinflammation Research team, based in our UCB Pharma office in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.

About the role

You will contribute to the development of innovative therapies by designing and executing in vivo studies in neuroinflammation. Working at the bench, you will generate high-quality data to support target identification, validation and early development programs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and wants to make a direct impact on drug discovery.

Who you’ll work with

You will be working in a team that focuses on neuroinflammation and neuroimmune diseases, within a collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment. You will partner with internal experts across biology, pathology and drug discovery, as well as external scientific partners, to advance research programs and deliver meaningful outcomes for patients.

Design and execute in vivo studies in neurological disease modelsPerform dosing, surgery, behavioral testing and tissue collectionGenerate and analyze data using imaging and molecular techniquesApply in vitro and ex vivo approaches to support experimentsCollaborate with internal teams and external research partnersContribute to ethical processes and animal welfare standards

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

Doctoral degree in neuroscience, immunology, or related field. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. Strong background in the field of neuroinflammationExperience studying how the peripheral immune system contributes to autoimmune, autoinflammatory and degenerative neurological diseasesExceptional hands-on experience with in vivo rodent models of neurological disease, FELASA C certification or equivalent is requiredKnowledge of neuroinflammation and immune mechanisms in neurological diseases. Experience running experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis/neuritis (EAE/EAN) or similar is beneficialExperience in drug discovery within industry or biotechnology preferredPassionate, strong communication skills with collaborative and proactive mindsetFluent in English, additional languages are an advantage
