Atargenx,we’reall in on our innovation mission to transform care for people living with severe autoimmune diseases. We speak the language of science, put patients first, and value high‑impact over hierarchy. If you’re energized by bold ideas and collaborative problem‑solving—patients are waiting.
The opportunity
At argenx, biomarkers are a key driver of how we design trials, make decisions, and bring precision therapies to patients. As a Biomarker Biostatistics Lead, you will shape and drive the strategic use of biomarkers across the drug development lifecycle—from early translational research through late-phase clinical development and beyond. You will partner cross-functionally to ensure that biomarker data is analysed and actively informs program decisions, de-risks development, and strengthens our clinical and regulatory strategies.
What you’ll do
Partner in shaping biomarker strategies from a quantitative perspective, ensuring that biomarker proposals are supported by robust, fit for purpose statistical approaches aligned with key program questions and decision points across development.
Translate scientific and clinical questions into decision relevant quantitative approaches, driving the identification, execution, interpretation, and optimization of biomarker analyses to support the assessment of diagnostic, prognostic, pharmacodynamic, and predictive value of biomarkers in a clinical and translational context.
Act as a strategic partner to Clinical, Biomarker, and Translational teams, influencing study design, biomarker selection, and evidence generation approaches early and throughout development.
Drive the integration of biomarker and clinical data, enabling cross-study learning, reverse translation, and program-level insights.
Ensure that biomarker analyses are fit-for-purpose, balancing scientific exploration with clinical and regulatory relevance (i.e. “measure what matters”).
Guide the evolution from exploratory insight to actionable evidence, supporting biomarker qualification and readiness for clinical and regulatory use where applicable.
Promote reproducibility and robustness, ensuring analyses are transparent, traceable, and aligned with ALCOA++ and regulatory expectations.
Influence and mentor across functions, elevating statistical thinking and shaping consistent, high-impact biomarker practices across the portfolio.
Represent biomarker biostatistics in strategic and governance forums, contributing to key development and investment decisions.
What you’ll bring
Advanced degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field; significant experience in pharma/biotech clinical development
Relevant working experience and strong expertise in statistical methodologies for clinical and biomarker data (e.g. longitudinal models, surrogate markers, survival analysis, multiplicity)
Demonstrated experience working with biomarkers in a decision-making context (e.g. predictive, PD, prognostic, stratification).
Proven ability to translate data into clear scientific and clinical recommendations for stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
Experience contributing to biomarker strategy and/or regulatory discussions is a strong plus.
Proficiency in R and reproducible analysis workflows; experience with complex/high-dimensional datasets.
Strong collaboration and influencing skills in cross-functional environments.
