Responsibilities
The candidate will join an infrastructure cluster, supporting multiple HVAC and black utilities projects across sites in Braine-l’Alleud and Anderlecht. The need arises from the internal transfer of a current SME to large projects, requiring a replacement to ensure continuity on ongoing and upcoming projects. The role involves acting as a technical expert and ensuring compliance with quality, HSE, and sustainability requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Team info:
The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary project environment composed of Project Leads and several SMEs across different domains (e.g. electrical, infrastructure). Depending on project size and complexity, the candidate may contribute to multiple smaller projects simultaneously or focus on a large-scale project with several sub-projects. Collaboration and communication across teams are essential, as projects are interdependent and involve multiple stakeholders (site teams, contractors, engineering partners).
Day to day:Define and validate HVAC and black utilities technical solutions during design phasesChallenge and approve engineering contractor deliverables and technical specificationsPrepare and manage technical documentation and tenders, including supplier selectionCoordinate with stakeholders and ensure alignment across interfacesMonitor construction and commissioning activities (HVAC & piping)Identify risks, deviations (quality, cost, schedule, HSE) and implement corrective actionsSupport project follow-up (budget, planning, progress) with the Project LeadEnsure proper integration of installations with site operationsParticipate in sustainability objectives and site compliance requirementsWork on a variety of projects (industrial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, ducting, building services installations)
Qualifications
Must have Minimum ~10 years of relevant experience expected Strong background in HVAC and engineering projects within pharma/biotech environmentsStrong expertise in HVAC (primary focus) and good understanding of black utilities/pipingExperience in pharmaceutical environments (mandatory) and/or biotech.Ability to manage both design and execution phases of projectsExperience with tendering processes, technical specifications, and supplier managementStrong knowledge of HSE and site compliance requirementsFluency in French and professional/technical EnglishStrong communication skills and team-oriented mindsetAbility to challenge technical solutions and stakeholdersNice to have:Knowledge of industrial refrigeration systemsExperience across multi-site or complex infrastructure environmentsPrevious exposure to large-scale or multi-disciplinary projectsWork model:Full-time position onlyHybrid ~20%On-site presence expected due to technical and construction activitiesHandover period planned with the current SME to ensure smooth onboarding and knowledge transfer
