Job description
We are looking for a System Engineer to support the serial engineering phase of existing electrified drive products (MHEV and PHEV) and contribute to cross-functional technical topics. You will work in a highly technical, international environment and collaborate closely with program leadership (Assistant Chief Engineers and Family Manager) on current e-drive systems.
Key Responsibilities

Serial Life & Continuous Improvement
- Support serial life activities and continuous improvement for existing e-drive systems.
- Contribute to robustness and reliability improvements of MHEV and PHEV e-drive products.

Issue Analysis & Problem-Solving
- Field returns / warranty cases
- Plant or 0-km system failures
- CAN/LIN traces
- Motor/inverter behavior
- Performance indicators (torque, current, speed, efficiency, control behavior)
- Coordinate and contribute to structured issue analysis for:
- Perform or support analysis based on:
- Drive or support 8D / Six Sigma problem-solving workshops as needed.
- Support requirement updates and assess homologation impacts related to Euro 7 regulations.

Cross-Functional System Analysis
- Mechanical integration engineers
- E-machine experts
- Inverter and power electronics experts
- Software calibration and controls teams
- Validation and functional safety specialists
- Simulation experts
- Coordinate system analysis activities involving:
- Coordinate and monitor system requirements and traceability using Polarion.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical background in:
- Electric machine systems
- Power electronics
- Control systems
- System engineering experience with mechatronic automotive systems.
- Strong capability in signal and data analysis:
- Dynamic behavior
- Inverter parameters
- Calibration effects
- Experience with validation and system debugging in bench or vehicle environments.
- Good understanding of embedded software structure and calibration workflows.
- Excellent communication skills for multi-disciplinary technical coordination.
Preferred Tools & Technical Exposure
- Requirements management: Polarion, DOORS
- CAN analysis tools: Vector CANalyzer/CANoe, CANape
- Engineering analysis: MATLAB/Simulink, data processing tools
- Issue tracking and problem-solving: 8D, FMEA, Six Sigma
Education & Background
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or similar.
- At least 3 years of experience in automotive or high-volume mechatronic product development or industrialization.
Preferred (Not Mandatory):
- Six Sigma Green Belt or proven 8D methodology experience.
- ISO 26262 Functional Safety awareness.
Soft Skills
- Autonomous, proactive and solution-driven working style.
- Comfortable working in an ambiguous and evolving scope (AGILE way of working).
- Strong stakeholder coordination skills.
- Clear communicator in written and spoken technical language.
- Fluent in English.
