Solution Architect – Brussels

Job description

We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our client’s architecture team in Brussels and contribute to the design and delivery of robust, scalable and reliable IT solutions.

Mission

• Work closely with Domain Architects, Technical Leads, Application Domain Owners, Business teams and other stakeholders to define end-to-end solution architectures.

• Analyse business requirements and technical constraints and translate them into coherent technical solutions.

• Design solutions meeting both functional and non-functional requirements, notamment en matière de sécurité, résilience, performance et scalabilité.

• Ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture standards, guidelines and business needs.

• Define and present solution architectures and implementation plans to management and stakeholders.

• Ensure end-to-end consistency of the solution across different platforms and delivery teams.

• Organise architecture walkthroughs and provide guidance to development and delivery teams.

• Estimate the effort required to implement proposed solutions.

• Contribute hands-on when required, notamment through prototypes and Proofs of Concept (POCs).

• Coach and mentor team members on new technologies and solution architecture practices.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience, dont au moins 4 years as a Solution Architect.

• Proven experience in end-to-end Solution Architecture on large-scale and complex IT projects.

• Strong understanding of functional and non-functional requirements, with experience around availability, recovery, operability, resilience and security.

• Experience in Financial Services is a strong asset.

• Solid knowledge of modern architecture patterns, ideally including:

  • Microsoft technologies

  • Cloud computing

  • API architecture

  • Event-driven architecture

  • Modernisation of monolithic applications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex problems across multiple architectural domains.

• Ability to understand, challenge and translate business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build trusted relationships with architects, business teams and other divisions.

• Experience in coaching and mentoring technical teams.

• Proactive, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives through to completion.

• Assertive, structured and comfortable working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
