We are looking for a Senior Business / Functional Analyst to join a small, experienced team working on the complete redesign of a large multilingual legal and regulatory knowledge platform.

You will play a key role in defining the foundations of the new platform before the development phase scales up. Acting as the link between Business and IT, you will gather and prioritise requirements, analyse existing processes, model information and translate business needs into clear functional specifications.

The platform will be used by internal employees and external users, including professionals, citizens, API partners and AI tools. The project will be delivered in phases, with clear decision points and a strong focus on Data Governance.

The specifications will also support an AI-assisted development approach, with systematic human review throughout the process.

Your

missions:

Act as the main link between business stakeholders and IT teams.
Gather, analyse and prioritise business and functional requirements.
Facilitate workshops with content managers, business experts and internal and external key users.
Analyse and document existing processes and application features.
Translate business needs into clear requirements and functional specifications.
Model business processes, information and key business concepts.
Define personas and user journeys for the different groups of users.
Create, manage and continuously refine the product backlog.
Write clear specifications with measurable acceptance criteria.
Define document classification and publication rules with business stakeholders.
Review and validate delivered features.
Prepare and coordinate User Acceptance Testing.
Use SQL to analyse data and validate business assumptions.
Support Data Governance throughout the project.

Your activities:

Organise and facilitate workshops with content managers, subject-matter experts and key users.
Map existing processes related to content authoring, translation, validation, publication and unpublishing.
Document the existing application’s features, including search, taxonomy, subscriptions and user profiles.
Gather and prioritise requirements using the MoSCoW method.
Create and maintain epics, user stories, story maps and the product backlog.
Write functional specifications and clear acceptance criteria using methods such as Volere/Robertson, use cases and Gherkin.
Model business processes using BPMN and UML.
Create conceptual and information models.
Work with concepts such as Business Object Models, Domain-Driven Design and bounded contexts.
Define personas and user journeys for internal employees, external professionals, citizens, API partners and AI tools.
Define the document classification model for public, internal, restricted and embargoed content.
Agree on publication and unpublishing rules with business stakeholders.
Use SQL to investigate data and validate business assumptions.
Review and validate delivered features against the agreed requirements.
Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Contribute to Data Modelling and Data Governance activities.
Support topics related to Master Data, data contracts and data-sharing agreements.
Analyse API and integration requirements.
Work with OpenAPI, Swagger/JSON, event-driven architecture and Publish/Subscribe patterns where relevant.
Contribute to data migration activities, including AS-IS/TO-BE mapping, data mapping and reconciliation.
Work closely with Business and IT throughout the different phases of the project.

You have the following

skills:

Must Have

Extensive experience as a Senior Business or Functional Analyst in complex IT and data environments.
Strong experience in Business Analysis and Functional Analysis.
Proven ability to translate business needs into clear functional requirements.
Strong experience in Requirements Engineering.
Proven experience writing specifications with clear and measurable acceptance criteria.
Experience with Volere/Robertson, use cases and Gherkin.
Expert knowledge of Agile methodologies.
Strong experience with epics, user stories, story maps and backlog management.
Experience prioritising requirements using MoSCoW.
Expert knowledge of BPMN.
Strong knowledge of UML.
Experience with conceptual and information modelling.
Knowledge of Business Object Models, Dom
