Initial 6-month contract
Expected start date: End of October 2026
We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer / Technical Lead to support large-scale IT transformation initiatives in Brussels.
The successful candidate will define and drive end-to-end technical solutions across complex enterprise environments, working closely with Requirement Owners, Domain Architects, engineers and application teams. The role requires strong hands‑on engineering experience combined with the ability to operate at both architectural and implementation level.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver end-to-end technical solutions that meet functional, non-functional, security and resilience requirements.
- Collaborate with Requirement Owners and Domain Architects from inception through to deployment.
- Lead IT engineers and application authorities in designing end-to-end solutions.
- Ensure alignment between enterprise architecture standards and technical implementation.
- Contribute to solution patterns and reusable building blocks.
- Support the evolution of software engineering and solution design practices.
- Contribute to domain target architectures and technology roadmaps.
- Provide technical guidance across complex systems and delivery teams.
- Support large-scale transformation initiatives and critically important transactional systems.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the IT industry .
- Experience with critically important transactional systems in large and complex organizations.
- Proven experience with IBM Mainframe .
- Strong experience in either Java or Windows .NET development environments.
- Good knowledge of Azure Cloud .
- Strong understanding of APIs , integration mechanisms and data technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work across systems, functions, locations and organizations.
- Ability to provide pragmatic technical recommendations and work autonomously.
- Experience working at both high-level architecture and detailed technical implementation level.
- Financial Services industry experience.
- Knowledge of financial services regulatory environments.
- Private cloud technologies.
- Event-driven architecture.Kafka.
