Freelance Senior Azure Cloud Engineer - Hybrid - SME Merge with Huge Logistics Company

We are seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to play a key role in a greenfield transformation programme that will integrate an SME business into a large enterprise logistics organisation. The successful candidate will design, build, and support the Azure cloud platform, enabling the migration, modernisation, and standardisation of infrastructure, applications, and services. The role will focus on establishing cloud foundations, automation, security, and operational excellence from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Azure cloud infrastructure for a large-scale business integration programme.
- Build secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions using Azure native services.
- Lead the migration and modernisation of applications, servers, and services into Azure.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Azure-native tooling.
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments and environment management.
- Collaborate with architects, security teams, and application teams to establish cloud standards and governance.
- Implement monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services.
- Proven experience delivering cloud transformation or migration projects.
- Expertise in Azure networking, security, IAM, and governance.
- Experience with Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or other Infrastructure as Code frameworks.
- Strong CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tooling.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.
- Knowledge of containerisation and Kubernetes (AKS desirable). xlxgzvr
