The role sits within the IT department of a public organisation in Belgium. The assignment covers new projects as well as the evolutive and corrective maintenance of existing applications, in line with the established technical standards and architectural guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Analyse requirements set out in functional and technical analyses or change requests
- Estimate the effort needed to implement technical solutions
- Develop new solutions and maintain or improve existing applications
- Perform code reviews, validate Pull Requests and ensure the quality of delivered code
- Carry out unit and integration testing
- Apply continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) principles
- Write technical documentation and installation guides, and contribute to operations documentation
- Contribute to application operations and monitoring
- Take part in agile ceremonies and work closely with analysts, architects, QA and DevOps teams
- Keep technical knowledge up to date and attend specialised training when needed
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a Master’s degree (a Master’s in IT is an asset, other fields are accepted)
- At least 5 years of professional experience in IT, including proven experience in software development (design, implementation, testing, maintenance)
- Professional/Certified Scrum Master or Professional/Certified Scrum Developer certification (any date of issue, expired certifications accepted)
- Completed OWASP training (external certificate or documented internal training)

- REST APIs (design, consumption, OpenAPI)
- HTML / CSS
- SQL
- Testing: unit tests, mocking, integration tests, load tests, TDD
- Design Patterns
- Networking concepts related to development: HTTP, TCP, IP, TLS, WebSockets
- Application Insights
- Technical documentation
- DevOps approach, CI/CD
Technical environment - additional skills
- Apache Web Server, Nginx
- High-availability architectures
- OWASP Top version), cryptography

- Software development processes and lifecycle

Languages
- French: C1 level (understanding, speaking, writing) - the working environment is exclusively French-speaking
Location and conditions
- Mainly on-site in Charleroi (Belgium)
- Remote work currently possible up to 2 days per week
