Product Expert

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Product Expert to help establish a new investment-lending activity within a leading financial institution. Starting from a blank slate, you will work with the team to develop a competitive and sustainable range of investment-loan products and services.

You will combine strong credit-product expertise, financial insight and stakeholder management with a hands-on approach to bringing new propositions, processes and solutions to market.

Role & Responsibilities

As Product Expert, you will take end-to-end responsibility for developing and managing the investment-lending proposition. Your responsibilities include:

Manage the investment-loan offering throughout its lifecycle, from initial definition and development to implementation and optimisation.
Develop and launch new investment-loan products, processes and supporting solutions.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity and developments in the investment-lending landscape.
Translate market insights into opportunities for new or improved products and services.
Assess opportunities based on profitability, pricing, costs and P&L impact, while monitoring product performance.
Incorporate applicable regulations and credit policies into the product-development process.
Contribute to pricing models and the continued development of the supporting pricing engine.
Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Sales, Distribution and IT, acting as the bridge between business needs and technical solutions.

Profile
At least four years of experience as a Product Expert or Product Specialist within financial services.
Strong and demonstrable expertise in investment loans.
Experience in product management, preferably involving the sale, distribution or development of investment-loan products.
The ability to build new credit propositions, products and processes from a blank slate.
An affinity with systems and technical solutions, including pricing tools or pricing engines.
Strong analytical and financial skills, combined with attention to detail and awareness of the broader commercial context.
Proven stakeholder-management skills and the ability to align, challenge and guide different parties towards a shared vision.
