The organisation is an internationally active technology company with its European headquarters in Herentals. From this location, the organisation develops, assembles and supports specialised safety solutions for industrial applications.
The Herentals site employs over 100 staff and has its own assembly and production facilities. In addition, training and technical support are provided to customers and partners from the Herentals site.
The company operates in various areas of industrial safety, with a strong focus on, amongst other things, pressure relief, rupture discs, explosion protection and fire safety. Thanks to its many years of expertise and strong technical know-how, the organisation provides solutions for customers across a wide range of industrial sectors.
To support the team’s continued growth, the organisation is looking for an Inside Sales Engineer who enjoys advising clients, combines technical knowledge with commercial skills, and is keen to specialise in a niche market.
As an Inside Sales Engineer, the candidate will act as the point of contact for customers and ensure that their enquiries are dealt with efficiently and accurately. The focus is primarily on customers in France and Wallonia, but customers from other regions also fall within the scope of the role.
The Inside Sales Engineer combines commercial skills with a strong technical interest. He or she advises customers, prepares quotations and guides them from the initial enquiry right through to the order. In doing so, you act as the link between the customer, outside sales and the internal teams, with the aim of handling every enquiry correctly and efficiently.
The role is within a specialised niche market, namely pressure relief (rupture discs). Sufficient time and training will be provided to gain a thorough understanding of the products, applications and market.
The ideal Inside Sales Engineer is customer-focused, sociable and a strong communicator. You enjoy taking the initiative and aren’t afraid to contact customers by phone.
In addition, the candidate should have an interest in technical matters and a flair for business. A keen desire to learn and a willingness to contribute ideas are important for success in this role:
Main responsibilities
- Processing requests for quotations and drawing up quotations
- Proactively following up on quotations, both by telephone and by email
- Providing technical and commercial advice and support to customers
- Ensuring orders are passed on correctly to Customer Service
- Co-ordination with Sales, Engineering and Applications
- Maintaining and further developing relationships with existing customers
- In the long term, take responsibility for prospecting, cross-selling and upselling
- Taking part in online meetings and, where necessary, accompanying staff on client visits

- Is keen to learn and likes to contribute ideas
- Is a team player with a strong sense of responsibility
- Is fluent in French and English, as these languages are essential for the role
- Speaking Dutch is an advantage but not a must
- Preferably has relevant experience, but motivation and a willingness to learn are more important than a specific qualification
