Senior Lead Lawyer, Tax

ppWe are looking for an experienced Senior Lead Lawyer (+8 years' experience) to join our growing Tax practice in Brussels. /p pYou will advise Belgian and international clients on a broad range of complex tax matters, with a particular focus on direct taxation, international tax, cross-border structuring, corporate reorganisations and MA tax. Working within an international and multidisciplinary environment, you will support multinational groups, private equity investors, investment funds and other leading businesses on some of their most strategic tax matters. /p pAs a Senior Lead Lawyer, you will take a leading role in managing complex client matters, delivering pragmatic and commercially focused advice, and supporting the development of junior lawyers. We are looking for a technically strong and entrepreneurial professional who is eager to build trusted client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of our Tax practice. /p pDLA Piper will invest in your long-term development, offering exposure to high-profile international matters, excellent career progression opportunities and the support of a truly global platform. /p pMain duties and responsibilities /p pAs a Senior Lead Lawyer within the Tax team in our Brussels office, you will advise clients on a broad range of domestic and international tax matters and play a leading role in complex cross-border projects and transactions. /p h3Your Role Will Involve /h3 ul liAdvising Belgian and international clients on direct tax matters, including corporate income tax and international tax issues /li liStructuring and implementing domestic and cross-border reorganisations, restructurings and other strategic business transformations /li liAdvising on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and private equity transactions /li liAssisting clients with international tax planning, group structuring and profit repatriation strategies /li liConducting and overseeing tax due diligence exercises, identifying risks and opportunities in transactional contexts /li liAdvising on transfer pricing and other tax aspects of multinational business operations, in collaboration with specialized transfer pricing teams /li liManaging complex, multi-jurisdictional projects in collaboration with colleagues across DLA Piper's international network /li liBuilding and maintaining strong client relationships through practical, commercially focused advice /li liWorking closely with colleagues across practices to deliver integrated solutions to clients /li liSupervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers within the team /li /ul h3About You /h3 ul liQualified to practise as a lawyer in Belgium /li li+8 years of relevant experience in tax law /li liStrong expertise in direct taxation, in particular corporate income tax /li liSignificant experience advising on international tax, cross-border structuring and corporate reorganisations /li liExperience in MA tax, transactional tax and private equity-related matters /li liFamiliarity with transfer pricing concepts and related international tax considerations is considered an asset /li liExcellent technical, analytical and drafting skills /li liA pragmatic, solution-oriented approach with strong commercial awareness /li liThe ability to manage complex matters with a high degree of autonomy /li liStrong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines /li liExcellent communication and relationship-building skills /li liA collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international teams /li liExperience supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers /li liA proactive and entrepreneurial approach, with an interest in contributing to business development initiatives /li liFluent in English, with a good working knowledge of Dutch and/or French /li /ul h3About Us /h3 pWe're a global law firm helping our clients achieve their goals wherever they do business.
